Smaller than I expected

I originally purchased this for a Modern Design class for college and ended up flipping through it for other classes! Its a small and chunky encyclopedia of many modern designers and I found the quick sections on each artist enjoyable and a good starting point to get some background on them. I've enjoyed flipping through this book and have found it very useful over the course of my studies

Bought this for a class. Love it. I had to read it cover to cover, but it is better to reference as needed. Alphabetical designers and design styles and movements. Great for anyone in the creative arts/architecture. I learned things I should have known about design but was ignorant of! This book enriched my life by giving me greater appreciation for designs from furniture to household objects to iconic buildings and taught me the historical and societal factors that influenced why they look the way they do. Worthwhile.

Although this is a small text by size, the information on people, places, and things related to design is enormous. I highly recommend this for collectors, artisans, and students of design history.

Small and compact, and looks just perfect on a coffee table. And if you are a designer; it is a great reference book for iconic furniture designs of the 20th century.

Loved it (except for the small print) so much I bought two more books by this team. It covers Designers A-Z, and features a Timeline) I use the book for reference. Its s a great for memory jogging--oh yeah I remember that chair! Such a reasonable price the book is worth buying just for the nostalgia. So many more out there with less information and a lot more money.
