Best EVER!!!! DO IT and you'll never look back!
I first had a cup of delicious coffee with this filtration while at a friends house last weekend. She has 7 different types of coffee making machines in her home ranging from $100-$3000. She is very versed and made me a cup with most of them. I was looking for the thickness of an espresso shot, but as a cup of coffee, not a shot. The body of the cup is really important to me. I'd rather not have coffee at all than to drink gross thin coffee. I'll admit, the overall experience of food and beverage holds a lot of weight with me. I can't have creamer, so I use coconut cream instead, and I can't have sugar, don't use Neem honey. What I can't stand about French pressed coffee is the sludge. Yuck. Besides, after the first couple sips, what was once the "body" I enjoy, settles at the bottom into the sludge. Gross. Not with this! You will enjoy a stable consistency throughout your entire cup. Love it! Why I bought this and recommend you do too: sometimes I just want one cup, and I only need one, if it's good and strong and delightful! This affords me the best of many worlds. I got a wonderful pricing point with the ability to pack it around and make a cup wherever I want! Finally I can have an amazing cup, any where I want! I can store grounds in the container and leave the house to meet a friend, and just add water when I get there! Think about it... Even a gas station has hot water you can use... It's a win at $35. Sure, I'd love to have the 32 ounce, but there's no need and it's not as mobile as this. The friend who introduced me to this, bought hers from an actual roasting plant. She works at Starbucks and we both agreed this was the best cup far beyond the verismo AND the Starbucks stainless steel fresh press. For $35, I got everything I wanted and don't mind having to make each cup separately. If I find that I need the bigger, I'd happily buy the 32 ounce and not blink twice. This is still something phenomenal to have in my kitchen. I didn't want something that took up a lot of space, this is compact and takes up no space, and clean up is simple! Unlike most coffee makers or presses, there is more oil expressed, so it's not a simple rinse, but that's ok, because you just had a cup of joe you can't even get anywhere else... Don't have to wait in any lines and saving myself a TON of money!!! I am a Starbucks gold member till 2024 due to the points I've accumulated in the past year on coffee. That's a crap ton of money they got from me and so this is a steal. There is no compromise here. I'd rather have a cup from this little gadget ANYDAY over any cup ANY Barista has ever served me. Just get it. You can thank me in YOUR review :) I did a video for it, but wasn't able to upload it :/ so I included pics. The packaging also is great for gift giving.

My New Go To
I received my Espro Travel Coffee Press at my front door just before I was on my way to work. Perfect timing. As soon as I got to work I read the instructions and made my first cup. I LOVE the way this coffee press is made. It is very comfortable in my hand and once you make the coffee, you can drink from any angle without looking for a sipping hole and the cup is always cool to the touch. I am a decaf coffee drinker so I don't drink for caffeine, I drink for the taste. So with that being said, after the first cup I realized that I needed 2 tbsp to satisfy my taste buds. Voila! Perfect. I use powdered coffee creamer and raw honey in my coffee so I put the creamer and honey in first and then put my coffee grinds on top of that. The amount of coffee I use may change once I make sure my next batch of coffee beans are a course grind as suggested for coffee presses. I used hot water from my office's water system. Not only was the water hot enough to brew the coffee but the coffee stays VERY hot for quite a while without leaving a burnt taste over time. The press itself is very snug around the inside of the cup making sure that coffee grinds do not seep into the coffee which is fantastic. Cleaning is no more cumbersome than any other press. I just ordered a tea and cocktail strainer to pour the used coffee grinds into so I can toss the grinds either in the trash or compost versus pouring them down the sink when I go to clean the unit. With trial and error I learned how to screw the bottom part of the press onto the cup securely and then comfortably unscrew and/or gently set the top portion of the cup's cap for easy use. GREAT coffee press. I am very glad that I made this purchase.

Great coffee maker for camping or outdoor use!
First off, let's get the latest issue out of the way. I purchased this item at retail from Amazon and have not been compensated, reimbursed or credited in any way. Now on to the review. I purchased this item as a portable coffee maker for camping. With that use in mind, here are some of the points I liked about this coffee maker. 1. It worked as advertised. Using this item to make French Press coffee was a snap. The double filter reliably screened out grounds, as long as you followed recommendations about how much water to use.(High water marks are stamped in the stainless steel interior and are easy to see and use). 2. The stainless steel vacuum bottle portion of the coffee maker allowed the beverage to remain hot for multiple hours. I had hot coffee through the course of the day. 3. The lid was easy to drink through. 4. The build quality seems to be very good. I haven't had any issues with any of the plastic or rubber items not functioning as they are intended. There were a couple of items that I found a bit frustrating though. They were: 1. Having to have a separate lid you had to find, keep handy and screw on if you wanted this item to seal and not leak if it was tipped over. Not a deal breaker, but an extra step and an extra piece to keep around if you wanted to throw this coffee maker into a bag and have leaks not happen. 2. Due to the double seal, cleanup was a bit more involved that what you would see in a standard French Press pot. Overall, this item was a gem for what I wanted it for. Hot, flavorful French Press coffee to sip on while camping, and no cold coffee!

Meh it’s ok…
Update 11/21: I’m changing it to 4 stars. This thing grew on me after awhile. Still a bit pricey with some design flaws, but I like it now. We just needed to figure out the ratios to our liking. We put about 2 TBS of freshly ground coffee and it seems to work just fine. Still it’s not an expresso kind of coffee but more of an americano. We are using this more as it gets colder and we find the coffee to be pretty good. We pour the coffee out into a cup though like pitcher. We added our warm milk to the coffee cup. I can not see letting the coffee sitting for so long, so I would say take it to work and use it in the morning, but don’t let it sit all day. Although it did stay rather warm when I realized there was some coffee left over later in the day. Of course it was bitter! So I wouldn’t recommend keeping the coffee for a few hours letting it brew. Unless your are into bitter off tasting coffee (no judgement). It’s actually fine and good quality. But I recommend pouring the brewed coffee into a cup then add all your preferences. Let it brew for at least 3 min or longer though. I said the coffee was bad, but after i figured out the rations with some good fresh beans, it’s actually quite nice. But you still can’t do expresso in here! So I take it back, it’s not a bad item if you want americano kind of coffee. Just wish it was a little less expensive. Earlier review: I mean it’s ok, but it’s not great. I guess this will be nice for someone who makes just regular american coffee. But if you want expresso then this isn’t right for you. This doesn’t seem to leak, so it would be good for a trip (but I wouldn’t trust it in my bag) and it’s sturdy so far and nice looking item. No coffee grounds in the coffee, which is nice. But I can see this has some design flaws. These are the ones I noticed. First it’s difficult to pull back up once you push the plunger down, but I suppose why would need to pull it back up once you add coffee and water. Also I noticed a lot of extra good coffee liquid gets stuck under the plunger (see photos), so it’s sort of wasteful. It doesn’t leave much space if you wanted to add milk either, you would have to open it and pull the plunger back up (which I tried but the coffee again was still pretty bad). I suppose you can pour it on the top. If you want bad 7/11 coffee this is right for you jajajaja. Someone else pointed out the coffee will keep brewing and then leave you with bitter even more gross tasting coffee.

Excellent Strong Coffee on the GO.
Purchased this French press style coffee cup for a road trip. Worked perfectly stopping in at a gas mart and using their hot water station (free). Brought my own pre-ground coffee. A little grind goes a long way since the water sits with the grind longer than pour over style. Just make sure you don't exceed the interior "max coffee" line or it will overflow. This cup also works for loose tea which has its own "max fill" line. Now use it at home. Cup itself has a sleek, minimalist design and the material feels lovely in your hands. I chose the white. As easy/hard to clean as standard French press situation. Like the no trash aspect and I can set it aside for cleaning later with no mess. Only real complaint is interior holds less coffee volume than I usually drink. I solved this by using my usual amount of grind which produced an expresso strength coffee and pour out to another cup and add hot water. Or I'll look for same cup company just bigger. Delish! Drink also stays hot as advertised.

Great for making my cup in the morning
Great for making my cup in the morning; keeps everything contained. Way less bulky (and expensive) than a k-cup machine. I throw it sideways in my bag, right next to the laptop, and I have no fear about this thing leaking. It stays plenty hot until I open it up at work. Occasionally the coffee gets thick towards the bottom, but only if I swirl it around to get the last few sips out; that's probably user error. Note that you do end up with a little inaccessible liquid hanging around with the grounds though. I make up for it by filling to the max fill line for tea; I haven't had any issues with overflow. Make sure to stir the grounds before you press, or you're going to be using water pressure to try and force a huge clump of grounds through the filter. The filter does a good job and you don't end up with grit, but it's exponentially harder to press; just read the directions. My only complaint is that if you're not paying attention and unscrew the filter without taking the lid off, its pretty much impossible to remove the lid. Again, that's user error more than anything. I wish I'd had this on my camping trip last summer, it's a great compact way to make a single cup.

I figured this travel version was a good compromise. Overall
I bought this thing looking for an alternative to the aeropress I use at work. I've always preferred the taste of a french press brew to the aeropress, but a full sized press would have been too much to keep around the office. I figured this travel version was a good compromise. Overall, it's a pretty good press. The company that makes it likes to talk about their filtration system. They say it gets under the grounds and filters better than a traditional press which is supposed to remove more of the sediment. I haven't noticed any sediment in my coffee so far, but the coffee tastes about the same as coffee made in a regular press, which OK by me because that was the whole reason I bought it. Their bucket press design does do a good job of stopping extraction so long as you don't add a preposterously large amount of coffee to the thermos. For the whole idea of a travel french press to work, it is paramount that there is a way to stop extraction of the coffee and this thing does that job pretty well. The press works well and the thermos does a good job of keeping the coffee hot. It seals well too, I filled it up, put the cap on and flipped it around to check for leaks. I didn't find any. The design of the lid/ drinking spout does a good job of helping the coffee stay put until you want to take a sip. As far as travel mugs go, this one does that better than any other mug I've used. One major drawback to this design, is that if you use sweeteners in your coffee, you need to put them in during the brewing process if you want to use the press as a travel mug. (otherwise, you would have to bring an extra cup to drink out of, which sort of defeats the point of a travel mug.) If you are particular about how you make coffee, this could be an issue for you (and I guess if you are considering purchasing a ~40 dollar mug, then you are probably the sort of person who is particular about their coffee.) They could alleviate this problem by designing a lid which doubles as a cup, or by adding a little door in the removable collar which you could open to add sugar but if they did one of those things, they might have to sacrifice the sleek and compact aesthetic. Overall it 's a good press and a good travel mug. I rated it four out of five stars because of the need to mix sweeteners in during the brewing process
