I use this book to become familiar with the rocks in my location. I wish there was more about how rocks grow. Will recommend this item.

Very pretty pictures of agates. I just wish it had more pictures of more average looking agates instead of just fancy special ones. I do like that is also include petrified wood though

This is a great book! I’m new to rockhounding and wasn’t 100% sure the differences between agates, jaspers, and other rocks. I live in a small coastal town in Alaska and have been very interested in finding agates. This book helped explain the differences, along with making my desire to find amazing agates that much more! It made me want to search for agates all over the US! I can’t wait to start my searches!

This book has beautiful pictures & is well written. The problem is I am new to rock hunting, agates in particular & don’t know what most of the agates look like in the rough, combine that with the states I travel the most are not really covered in this book. IN, OH, PA NY.

Great book! Haven't read it all, but what I have read is clearly written and has great full color pictures. The author covers Agates and Jasper from all states in the US and parts of Canada. In the states she covers, she even tells the best counties for any particular agate or jasper found there.

I personally met the lady that wrote this book while I was attending the International Rock Show in Tucson, Arizona last year. She was extremely nice and taught me an awful lot about Agates and Jasper's. After talking with her I had to go get this book. It is excellent! The pictures are perfect and there are lots of them. The reading is so easy to understand and follow. I am a lot more informed now and I am able to "talk the talk" with most rock collectors now. If you are into making jewelry or just a collector this is a "MUST HAVE" book for the novice or expert. And did I mention that you won't have to take a second out on your home to purchase it either?

This is great rockhounding book written by a well experienced rockhound based on her years of experience. It covers every US state and parts of Canada and Mexico. Ton of valuable info in it. I just wish I'd bought the hard copy instead of the online version.

THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE FOR ROCKHOUNDS. THIS HAS HELPPED LEAD ME TO NEW AREAS AND FIND SOME TRULY AMAZING THINGS, AND NOT ALL OF THEM ROCKS. AS FOR AMAZONS PART, IT WAS EAZY TO FIND AND GOT HERE JUST WHEN THEY SAID IT WOULD. COULD NOT BE HAPPYER WITH THE EXPERIENCE.

Nice photos and snappy copy. Quite a lot of the photos don't have dimensions though. Overall however a great buy.
