Choose his destiny
This this review is based on the BLU-RAY version only. Ok first of all Under the Red Hood is my favourite DC animated movie. When I saw this I thought the little interactions would just ruin more than help it (as to me it did not need any help). Guess what I loved it. Some out comes and endings are better then others but they are all great. I even love the overview of the original movie. For extras there are 4 great shorts. Then a commentary of the main feature and each of the shorts. When I finished one path when the credits start it gives the choice to go to any of the choices made and choose something else couple of them are shockers. I am really glad they kept Under the Red Hood animation all the way through. I am very impressed.

A new type of a batman movie
Batman on a budget no gadgets, no latest technology or undistructable badass tank or bike, hard to understand the story line, wasn't worth the £13 box office price, watched it 3 times and still haven't got a clue what the story was about, I'd give it 3 out of 10 sorry to say

A fun interactive short film
Please note that this review is for the Blu-Ray, the digital version isn't interactive and is simply a recap of Under the Red Hood with Batman narrating which is what happens if you choose to have Robin die at the start of the short. I really enjoyed the storylines in the short as well as the bonus shorts. My only complaint is that despite being interactive and being offered three choices at first, only one storyline is actually interactive. If I could change anything it would be that the "Robin Cheats Death" storyline was given two endings, since the "Batman Saves Robin" storyline has a Red Hood and a Red Robin storyline with the former having two endings while the latter has three. The Red Hood storyline also has one choice which is completely meaningless as its the next choice that really matters, while one of the endings of the Red Robin storyline could honestly have been removed so there was space for an extra ending for the "Robin Cheats Death" storyline.

Title is a bit misleading
Originally I thought this was going to be an hour Long batman film about the death in the family storyline.Instead it was a five mini story collection all about 20 minutes long woth one of those being about said story.

Batman: Death in the Family
The latest DC animated project. Batman: Death in the Family retells the fate of Jason Todd prior and during the events of Under the Red Hood.Firstly, do not buy or rent the digital version of this film, as it is utterly pointless in terms of the interactive element (and main selling point) of the feature, because it doesn’t include it and secondly even without this aspect the new film you get is a complete waste of time, as all it is 30 minutes of a much better film which has already been released and that most viewers will have already seen. As well as tacking on 4 animated shorts which have already previously been released, to justify the digital release price. The only new element of this version of the film is the way it is presented, with a dull overdramatic and cheesy narration from Batman as he sits in a diner with Clark Kent (for some reason, it’s random and never explained). The rest is the key sequences from Under the Red Hood, which is a great film, but I wouldn’t have paid £5 to see around 25 minutes of it chopped together. The new animated scenes look actually less detailed and impressive then the 10 year old flashbacks. Again those moments are great but the Under the Red Hood film is cheaper to than to rent this release and many of said moments are on YouTube to view. The new voice acting is solid from Bruce Greenwood as Bruce Wayne, though the dialogue is cheesy, cliche and overdramatic at times, however as much as I like his other works, Nolan North doesn’t fit Clark Kent here.I don’t understand why this couldn’t have just been a full on adaptation of the classic titular story instead of a poorly mis-marketed, cheap cobbled together cash grab of a digital release. I appreciate that the ‘true’ version will be on physical, but honestly I don’t have the motivation to buy it, especially if they are the quality and effort of 30 minutes on display here.

Pretty solid movie
Fine selection of alternative endings suited to this DC classic comic. Though you have to remember what you selected to access all 7 new endings. Still for the price paid worth the purchase.

A great take on one of the most important Batman comics ever made. Very attention grabbing and different endings giving the interactive experience a great feel !
