Switzerland (LONELY PLANET) Paperback – June 1, 2012

Travel guides are hard in the ebook format, but I really felt that LP did a great job organizing the info and adding necessary links to maps and outside sources. I love the use of images, which isn't always prevalent in ebooks. Overall, a great guide for my trip.

Came on time in great condition. I use Lonely planet guide on all my trips. It is extremely useful and has all the detail required for planning trips and while you are traveling. This addition also includes the country Liechtenstein, which was great because on our way from Switzerland to Germany for Oktoberfest we stopped in Liechtenstein (it is an adorable country by the way-worth a trip).

The restaurant suggestions were spot on and the guide does a good job of managing expectations for prices at places throughout this very expensive country! Visited Luzern and Bern and Engelberg with the help of the guide, it was great. We left the book with family who live in Switzerland b/c it mentioned sites and museums they didn't know about!

Enjoyed this guide with others on our trip. Multiple guides gave us more information. This guide geared more to younger travelers and those who stay in Hostels as well as anyone else. Some of the information was funny and we enjoyed reading the excerpts. covered all the information we needed.

10/10 recommend. Using this for a 2 person trip and it provides amazing basics you need to know and how to become better at traveling the country.

While this book would be great for some one who is looking for an overview of Switzerland, I was looking for something more in depth. I was looking more for more in depth descriptions. Because I will be spending a month there, I was hoping for more ideas attractions that are not the norm for the casual traveler. However, this book would do well for the first time visitor or one who is not going to be there for a long time and wants to hit the highlights and must sees.

Lonely Planet travel books are amazing. Bought this as a gift and the recipient loved it.

i've always relied on lonley planet for all my world travelling needs and Lonely Planet Switzerland did not come up short. the only problem i ever have is trying to decide what to see and where to go. too many places and not enough vacation time!
