Oatey 4 in. x 2 in. PVC saddle tee kit

Well made, sturdy, and easy to use. Take your time planning where you want to tie into your 4" pipe and consider flow. Before you cut the existing pipe lay everything out and be very sure you have the right location and angle for this saddle. Once it's glued in place you can't reposition it. Use an indelible marker to mark it's location on all sides and mark where you will cut a round hole in the 4" pipe. I used a 2" hole saw and then sanded the hole edges smooth. Make sure all the gluing surfaces are absolutely clean. Plan how you are going to assemble everything before you apply glue. Have everything ready, check that the nuts screw on easily. You will need to work quickly once parts are put together. I applied PVC glue to both saddle and pipe and put them together based on the markings I previously made. I then quickly tightened up the threaded brackets to firmly hold it in place. Ended up with a very strong, professional looking tie-in to my drain pipe.

Added a shower drain in our bathroom remodel and this saddle tee did the job. Plus saved myself a bunch of money by doing it myself. Couldn’t find this tee locally but had one shipped here in no time. Made plumbing great again for one happy customer in Texas!

Didn't end up using this little beauty as I tapped into an existing clean-out for my project but I'm sure this would have worked flawlessly. Although saddle tees work fine, drilling into older pvc drain pipe can sometimes cause the pipe to crack which would have been an absolute nightmare scenario!

Adding a 2” washing machine drain line into the 4” main was made possible by using this saddle. Because we had a very short section of 4” drain to attach this to, we had to cut the ‘ears’ off with a band saw - so the u-bolts no longer worked. A dose of Oatey cement and two 5” screw clamps made the perfect solution. So glad I bought this adapter!

Long story short, sewage pipe problems suck when you have a 70 year old house. I could have used a rubber boot to fix the 1 1/2 inch steel pipe, but opted for an all plastic repair that will outlast me! the 2 inch hole fit perfect over the 1 1/2 inch nub that was left after cutting it off. I want to say it was an easy install, but there is nothing easy about working upside down, in the mud of a sewage leak and only 10 inches of clearance to work in, but this is easier than just about any other option I could come up with.

This 4" x 2" saddle saved me from having to replace the whole waste water system in our house when we remodeled our bathroom. I needed a 2" hub for the new shower. There wasn't one until I installed this saddle. It had to be cut down a bit but worked just as expected. Saved me a bunch of work!
