DO NOT BUY for Macbook Pro 2010---don't make my very expensive mistake of buying this ill-fitting RAM!
I finally got fed up with memory-hog Chrome slowly killing my 2010 Macbook Pro (4GB RAM), and decided to upgrade. I researched the proper specs, and read reviews of a lot of different suppliers on Amazon, searching for "2010 MBP" or "2010 Macbook Pro" to make sure that other users had a good experience with this particular brand of memory---there were quite a few positive reviews for this memory in the 2010 MBP (and a few negative ones), so I bought it. BIG MISTAKE!!!The original Apple memory (2 x 2GB) came out easily, and I put the new 2 x 4 GB Corsair memory in---it went in and appeared to be seated correctly, though it felt like a tighter fit than the original memory. Spoiler alert--it IS tighter than the original memory; the Corsair sticks are fatter than the Apple product, and this caused no end of problems!!I turned my laptop on and got the deadly 3 beep code indicating that there is something wrong with the memory :( I took the computer apart to remove the memory sticks, and found that they were almost un-budge-able! I got the top stick out after several minutes of maneuvering and retried the computer to see if I could get a startup screen with just the bottom stick---nope, still the 3 beep code of death, so clearly the bottom stick wasn't working and needed to be taken out.It took close to one hour and a lot of blood sweat and tears to get that damn bottom memory stick out. I put the old Apple memory back in, turned it on, and got a white screen with a flashing question mark--Apple's equivalent of the blue screen of death, indicating there's a serious hardware problem.Long story short is that google suggested that the data cable in these MBP 2010s is prone to failure if at all stressed, so I bought one, along with a hard drive enclosure to test my original drive. Sadly, although the hard drive worked outside the computer in an external enclosure (using the original Apple memory inside), it didn't work inside the laptop (nor did a brand new drive) and the new data cable didn't fix anything.Since the new data cable did nothing, and the drive worked externally, the most likely conclusion was that it's a problem with the logic board, which is next to the memory slots and probably somehow sustained damage through flexing or breaking of soldered connections when I struggled to get the non-functioning, too-thick, ill-fitting Corsair memory out.A logic board replacement is in the $500+ range, and I don't want to invest a lot more in my aging laptop, so I'm stuck with a computer that works only if the hard drive is in an external enclosure....not very handy, since my laptop now has the mobility profile of a desktop :(So all told, I ended up spending a significant amt of $ on 2x4GB of this Corsair memory, plus $100 on additional parts + $50 to buy memory that actually worked (OWC) and now I'm out $200 total and have a crippled computer...all because I bought this crappy memory. I suspect that the good 2010 Macbook reviews for this product come from people who (1) did not get a lemon in their memory order and (2) NEVER had to remove the Corsair memory after they installed it.Is it worth the risk to save $10 on Corsair vs. buying a more reputable brand? Your call, but based on my very unhappy experience, losing significant time investigating the problem and installing / uninstalling parts, wasting $, experiencing a lot of headache and gnashing of teeth, and also crippling my computer, I'd give that a big NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.If you have a 2010 Macbook Pro (or any similar model), AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!

More speed! I recommend it.
I wish I had bought this sooner. I was running my mid 2009 Mac Book Pro on just the 2 gigs of ram it came with and it was starting to become a major source of stress. My Mac Book Pro holds a maximum of just 8 gigs of ram so I had planned on buying two of these 4 gig sticks but decided to just get one for now and try it out first. I had two, one gig sticks installed so I popped one out and and put the new four gig in its place, bringing me to a total of 5 gigs. Removal and installation is super easy, I think just about anyone can do it so save some money and do it yourself. There's plenty of guides on the Internet that will walk you through it, ifixit.com being the best. The 5 gig increase has worked wonders for me, so as soon as I order my second stick I'll be really zippin. 8 gigs max sounds silly considering the amounts of stock ram shipped with computers today but if 5 gigs has already worked great then the maximum of 8 that I can install will be fine and I even consider myself to be a "power user"

Great performance upgrade for your macbook.
Okay for help with people understanding compatibility my macbook is A1342 13in White Polycarbonate 2.26ghz Intel C2D. I originally had the factory 2gb (2x1gb) i pulled them both out. Put the 4gb in the bottom slot and one of the 1gb in the top slot; i'll be buying another 4gb soon. And it is recommended that you have matching RAM for increased performance. But even so. From 2 to 5gb feels better especially loading apps. but being as yosemite is a little rough to run i plan on installing a SSD which is what i'd recommend to anyone looking to increase performance on an older macbook. Retina Display macs have flash storage so thats why they're still so snappy.

1.5 volts - works perfectly in 2010 mini mac.
Works perfectly in upgrading our old 2010 Mini Mac - you don't need to get this in pairs! Our mac came with 2GBs with 1GB in each of the 2 slots. Removed one of the existing samsung 1GB memory sticks in the top slot(because it's the first and easiest to remove slot), and popped this Cosair 4GB SODIMM in, computer booted right up, recognized the memory and started using it right away. With the High Sierra OS upgrade, it was definitely running slow before, now it's almost like day 1.

Its memory ?!
I dont have alot of expierience with upgrading memory. I t was super easy to put it. I notice the computer runs hotter but not much. Its faster but not like upgrading in a PC . My PC'S were lightning fast my mac is a bit faster but has like a tank holding water capacity where the PC's never had this effect. I would suggest this memory to anyone it was dirt cheap compared to mac prices at 100 per 4 gig stick and it does its job. i just wonder if better grade memory would run faster as a whole ?

Works!
Just got two of these in the mail. Shipping was fast(Prime eligible). Popped them right into my Macbook Pro (Mid-2010) giving me 8gigs total. The computer recognized all of it right away and I'm good to go.Only thing I can mention to be careful with is taking them out of the packaging. Like others have said, not the best packing job. Not much for protection of being rattled around in the box while shipped and then when you are trying to remove from the plastic you feel as though you are going to snap the fragile RAM... just be gentle and pry it from the top.5 stars so far!

Corsair Gives My MacBook Wings to Fly!
My 2009 MacBook Pro was continuously slow, with the wheel of death always spinning. I finally realized it had come with two 2gb memory cards installed. So, I ordered two of these 4gb (the most it will accept) cards and voila, it works beautifully! (Full disclosure: I also found the function where one can increase the amount of memory used for browsing, etc., and set it very high.) Either way, my laptop is moving at lightening speed and the memory cards are doing their job.

Ottima RAM (Macbook bianco 6,1 Late 2009)
