Ugly Stik GX2 Low Profile Baitcast Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

I had unboxed this on my yt channel and here is the video after that ! This combo is a good combo . feels good in the hand and casting is good ! I had only a problem with the line tension knob but I returned it and have a new one on the way. I got the new one and it works great for the price very good rod and reel combo ! I would buy it again if I needed another.

This is a pretty good buy for the cost. Was not at all happy with the line that came with it, seemed to have been wound on wrong. Changed the line and everything is fine.

I wouldn’t buy, the rod is great but the reel locked up on me as I was tuning it to cast, it won’t lock upon reeling and then got bound up mechanically to where it was so hard to turn the reel I felt like I was going to snap it off

To me, great little combo but then the last time I used a baitcasting reel was when I was 6 yrs old. The rod is great the reel is good and if you do the math the baitcasting reel is $20. So it is a good starter reel if you are getting into baitcasters, it's not the best but it will work until you can get something better. I haven't had any issues with the reel, most of the problems I had where my mistakes of learning how to use it. Update: I took it out for some saltwater fishing, caught a nice snook it was rough trying to reel it in but the reel held up.

Good hiking combo, but loud when casting.

The rod is amazing, the real is ok. Breaks slip on the reel and sometimes don't even work. My dad did me a favor though and ran over it; The rod is just fine and you'd never know it was ran over, the reel however... lol is where it belongs. Buy an Ugly Stik!!! even if you're just buying the rod and getting the reel free ;) you're still buying a high end VERY DURABLE rod
