Good Travel Mug
So I bought this specifically to use on the road with an aeropress. So an aeropress does fit in this, but it's a tight fit. So tight, in fact, that when it's hot and has thermally expanded a bit, it's actually a little tough to get out. This isn't a huge problem, as it's usually cooled enough to take out by the time I've cleaned and straighten up the other parts of coffee brewing, but still worth noting. As a mug all its own, no real complaints. Holds temperature well, and the lid feels tight and hasn't been prone to leaking. It's small, which is good or bad. Easily fits in backpacks and cupholders (those in my car, at least), but might be a little small in volume for some people. Overall, it's easy to recommend and does the job well.

The mug looks good and works perfectly
I wanted to find an everyday mug after my favorite got shattered after use of three years. Normally, I only have a few kitchen items I use often so I wanted to buy something nice for a long term use. The mug came in a nice pouch which could be used to hooked onto a clip. I won't be taking it for a hike but I thought it was nice packaging. The packet info brochure came with the mug was in high quality. While the information is pretty self explanatory, the quality of the packet definitely added to the "unboxing" experience. I usually make 2 shots of espresso and add a cup of hot water in the morning. The mug kept it warm even after a couple of hours. I haven't gone to a lengthier time to test how long the liquid would stay warm because I usually finish drinking it before a couple of hours. The mug's surface has a light texture which helps to reduce fingerprints from hand oil which occurs naturally. The brand logo is not obnoxiously displayed like some other Amazon brands. If you like black color, you will definitely like this mug. The cleaning was pretty easy with warm soapy water. Though leaving the liquid too long may discolor the inside surfaces, if you clean it often as I do after each drink there won't be any issues.

Great cup with some design flaws
Very well constructed for those who enjoy their beverages. Pros: The curved design is the perfect match for lips. The ceramic interior coating truly does not alter the taste. The twist seal cap is a great addition for constant temperatures and reducing leakage. Cons: The design will most likely not fit into any standard cup holder. The twist cap requires some level of grip strength and at least two hands. The seal will not prevent all leaks if just thrown into a bag carelessly. Overall I enjoy the cup and I do recommend it but reservations on practicality if design.

Additional heat retention suggestions
If you need, (or want) the contents to stay hot longer there are a number of things you can do to accomplish that. I use a number of options. I located a usable beer can insulator, and slid cup into one, and, measure how much to cut off of the top of second one and and capped it onto the top of the cup. I was amazed at how well it worked. And if you want, add additional insulating material....dry kitchen towel folded and wrapped around cup. The more insulating material you add to the cup, the better it holds heat. Additionally, you can slide the insulated cup into a plastic bag, (which stops any air, hot or cold). from seeping through the additional insulation even more). Use your imagination and basic physics, and you may have other ideas. Additional note....If you want to keep food or beverages hot or cold on a car trip and have no cooler, the same technic works....I keep a kitchen trash bag or two in trunk, and place food items in it first, then wrap all with beach towels, etc,....the thicker the better. May not be as good as a cooler, but works well in a pinch. I often drive to the beach, or elsewhere, and it works pretty well. Also cardboard boxes are a pretty good insulator, especially if wrapped. Just some thoughts I thought might be of interest.....cheers. Additional note: As this specific cup is a bit larger in diameter, you might need to locate a insulated container with a slightly larger diameter. Some possibilities would be a flexible insulator for a water bottle, or any other correct size that would work. Some beer can insulators are flexible enough that they will stretch enough to be ok. It also helps to select one with a flat bottom to enable the cup to sit flat and not tilt or fall over. I found two that I cut each just enough to put one on bottom of cup, and the other on the top with a snub fit. But if you have a need to want the contents to stay hotter longer, it is worth the effort. (I also think coffee seems to taste better because of the ceramic lining in the cup)

Very Satisfied with this mug. But has at least 1 flaw, and I wish it did 1 thing better.
Well made mug, Overall very pleased. I love the EKG+, (although Fellow is way past due to creating an Android App) but was disappointed with their Joey Mugs, so I was hesitant to purchase it, but I am glad I did. Prior to this, my "to go" mug was a Cortica (Ceramic Mug with Cork koozie), One of the few options that did not impart off flavors, but it did not retain heat like a double wall Contigo, and was not leak proof! The Contigo although retained heat and was mostly leak proof, always gave the coffee a bad flavor due to the metal, and hard to clean lid. I also didn't like trying to sip hot liquid out of the mouth piece, I found it hard to gauge the temp, and would often burn my tongue. It would stay scalding for too long, then by the time it was drinkable it tasted bad. The Carter Mug is different. It holds heat very well, I have yet to taste any off flavors. I was concerned the metal lip would burn your lips, but that has not been an issue. Having a wide mouth allows you to gauge the temp as you begin to sip. The Carter is not a mug you should try to drink from while driving, so that fact that it does not fit a cup holder, is not a deal breaker. This mug is designed more for tossing it in your bag, and still having a hot beverage when you get where you are going. Or for making a cup of coffee that you can sip for hours and still have a warm to hot cup. Coffee is always best when consumed shortly after brew, but things are not always ideal and the Carter helps bridge that gap. Pros: -Retains heat well (pre-heating is a must) -No off flavors even after the coffee sits in it all day -Easy to sip from, the thin lip is really nice. -Nice tight seal, no leaks -Easy to clean, I hope the ceramic coating holds up over time Cons: -The lid always drips after opening Other: Does not pour well. To be far, it is not designed to be a carafe, (Fellow maybe you can make a ceramic coated insulated carafe, after you release your ODE grinder). At home I like to brew a 30g:500g V60 into a hario glass carafe. Before owning the Carter mug, the coffee in the carafe would cool rather quickly, but I really had no other options to keep it warm, without reheating, or having a double walled metal container impart terrible taste. With the Carter, I brew my coffee, pour 170g into a Bodum double walled glass cup, and the rest into the Carter. When I finish my cup, I pour another 1/2 cup from the carter. I always spill a little down the side at the start and stop of the pour. From there I either pour another 1/2 cup or take the Carter with me around the house and finish it over the next few hours. It really does stay hot enough for me to enjoy for many hours. We are not talking 160 degrees all day, but it nicely holds a temp that is more enjoyable than not having it in the Carter. Opening it less helps, which is why I pour into a cup at first, and I'm sure if I left it unopened and full, the temp inside would remain much hotter. Overall, I like it, I'd buy another, and I'd recommend it to anyone, even if you don't need a to go mug, it's great for at home use too.

Keeps tea warm my entire work day.
Keeps my tea hot all day. After work I still have warm tea. Love it!

Nice mug!
It doesn't fit in the cup holder for my car but wasn't a deal breaker since the liquid is sealed pretty good. Used mostly for coffee, keeps it warm, can roll around in a backpack or car seat without leaking. Sturdy, lid stays on well- only in use for a couple of weeks but so far; 5 stars

More Fors than Cons
The design is superb. It looks and feels very strong. I bought this over my frustration over metal (Stanley) mugs and bottles. I am a drinker of high speciality coffees that I gather around the best roasters beans in Europe and US, so I value taste, smell and temperature. Great things about it: large drinking hole, like a proper mug, it keeps warm for a long time, doesn't leak if you intend to bring in your bag, it's beautiful. I believe it does not affect the taste of coffee and if you close the lid, it can keep the temperature of your coffee on your desk for long. Not so great things about it: The lead has a rubber part of it that although maybe necessary to tight closing it up, it retains smell like all rubber does. This is not a problem per see since I only use it once in a while (the lead), but the metal ring that we drink from it, retains smell, (5 dollar smell), if you stick your nose inside, the ceramic part seems to not retain any smell. I think the wine glass feel FELLOW wanted our lips to feel is the wrong way for drink coffee. For centuries we have used thick ceramic borders to regulate temp while drinking with our lips, so the thickness is a problem and I wish it would have been covered with ceramic as well. Is it a keeper? Yes, because there's nothing in the market that will be better for me. I can stand the smell (although it is really annoying) because the double walled vacum steel is necessary to hold the temp but most important, its ceramic covered inside walls will not affect the coffee's taste.
