Playwrite Magic Growing Christmas Tree

Really sweet activity. I was worried because reviews were mixed, but ours worked really well. It took a while to separate the 'branches', then I did it again after putting the liquid on (wear gloves if you don't want green fingers!). I then used a pipette to really drench the tree. We left all the liquid in the base and it got sucked up in the next 24 hrs as the crystals grew. It's a little fragile but survived being moved to a different location. Definitely worth it - my kids (ages 11 & 13) enjoyed seeing the growth over two days. I'd get one again next year (our naughty elves brought it with them from santa!!).

Our daughter loved watching this grow over 24 hours. It just got better and better with time. Really enjoyed it.

The elves bought 2x of these for my 2x eldest children and then a 3rd for their playdate friend over Christmas.I was sceptical about the age 8 requirement. But makes sense as the tree is so tiny and very fiddly to manipulate. You need to gently separate the 3x 1mm ends of the branches to fan them out. This is very fiddly to do, under 8yr olds struggle.Then very gently pour over the "magic water".Again for under 8yr olds who lack patience & precision, this can be a bit disastrous.Once the trees were wet, we found our efforts to fan out the branches were wasted as the cardboard just relaxed back into it's original position once it had absorbed the water and become heavier.As the crystals grew, the trees resembled lanky broccoli stalks! The crystals grew on the edges of the 2x tree triangles, forming 4x bushy crystal stripes down from the top. It was really interesting to see them grow throughout the day.We "decorated" them the following day (once the crystals had stopped growing) with the glitter, bead chain and star topper provided (1x pack was missing the chain). Sadly a lot of the crystals smudged off during this process (they are very very soft), so it needs gentle hands.All in all, a fun little activity at a very low price. It doesnt take long to do, but is very good value for the entertainment it provides when you consider the time checking to see how much they have grown.Would buy again when my youngest 2x are old enough to do it.

expected at least a 6 inch tall tree but this is tiny what a waste of money

I had these trees as a child and the basic product is fine, the tree grows well and it’s fun to do with children. However the decorations supplied with this item are completely useless. The instructions do not mention how to attach the decorations to the tree. The plastic star has a hole in the bottom but it doesn’t fit on the top of the tree. I have no idea how to attach the string of red ‘tinsel’ as it won’t stay on, and once the tree has grown it is very delicate so will be damaged if you try to put it on then. I would just get a normal multicoloured tree instead next time.

I loved watching it grow even as a teen I think this is something everyone can enjoy I had so much fun with this product the aperence at the end made my day it's easy to put together and it looks really nice considering it's not that costly and I hope more people will try out this product this has adapted itself as my lil mini tree I do infact think this is something I will forever be proud of my lil magic tree who I called osso I 1000% recommend this to you 😊

Great product and good price sold as seen

I used to have these in the 2000’s and loved them so I got one for my son from his elf and he loved it. Put the solution in before school and was shocked when he came home and it had grown. Takes longer then 4 hours to grow fully as we watered it about 7:45 and it’s now 4:15 and it’s still not fully formed but definitely a Great gift 🎄
