Absolutely brilliant, bought to replace a Garmin swim ( first version).
Initially gave it a one star, had trouble setting the custom pool length, seemed only to go to 15m, put in the box ready to send back, then read the instructions 😂, actually goes from 0 - 150m, also had trouble initially with the miles when used in the bike mode, again set to uk miles and now me and the swim 2 are the best of buddies, inseparable, has also got a clock on it and an alarm clock etc😉. Modes; swim, cycle etc are really easy to use, swim and miles accurate and reliable, love it, good job I didn't take notice of any of the bad reviews, I always bear in the back on my mind they are written by people like me. 😁

Great bit of kit
I have always used Garmin, my first GPS running watch was a Garmin- and when a knee operation stopped me running I took up cycling, a Garmin was fitted on my handlebars. I am now an open water swimmer who is in training for a swim from Alcatraz ( my biggest swimming challenge to date), Garmin Swim2 is essential to my training- when connected to Garmin connect app I can analyse distance, speed, stroke rate, Heart rate and Swolf. I will only trust Garmin to help me with my training and performance.

Great Watch for swimming
I traded in my Apple Watch 6 for this as the Apple Watch was unreliable when I changed pace scoring odd lengths (e.g. 101 lengths when I have swam even numbers). The touch screen on the Apple Watch was also hit and miss often becoming unresponsive when wet. The advantage of the Swim 2 is that it is all push button and so I can pause and check time and pace with ease, it also has an auto pause feature that I am yet to use. The cons are that it does not auto-register kickboard drills. These have to be input manually on the drill log. It gives you the time of the drill and then you input the distance, that of course means that you have to count. Some features are quite fiddly drills and intervals for example but most can be adjusted on the Garmin Connect app. The Garmin does not give me a lap count but is accurate on distance, I have got used to this now and although laps would be useful it does not make a massive difference. It has an alarm feature that you can set at intervals of your choosing e.g. 10 laps and it should vibrate and sound but I have not registered that at all when swimming. Battery is pretty good, I get three one hour swims on consecutive days in between charges. The watch is light and comfortable and Garmin IQ has plenty of faces to choose from.

Good fitness watch, mostly for swimming and sleep analysis.
Perfect for swimming and I also use it to analyse my sleep and stress level.

Ease of use
This is my second. garmin swim 2. I want a garmin for swimming, running and cycling without the nonsense. I'm happy with the heart rate and sleep monitor etc, that's mildly entertaining without complicating things. I also like it being linked to my phone so I can see a message at a glance if I'm cycling for instance. It has a fund phone function which makes my phone sing if I've lost it (only when in Bluetooth mode) and it alerts when connection is lost. Handy reminder if you walk away without your phone. My main reason for buying this though is for swimming, and I'm very happy with all it does.....sat nav precision, laps counter, strokes etc. The reason this is my second is because tge first had battery problems. Trouble getting a connection to charge and flattening quickly. I've discovered after googling that it's best to clean the terminals on watch and charger with white spirit or similar to degrease. I also now let it run completely flat once in a while and fully recharge. This is far better than top ups which can leave an unreliable battery level reading. So very happy with use, not so happy with the battery still but it's better when charged empty to full.

Garmin 2 GPS Swimming smartwatch
My previous garmin swim watch finally gave up after 1388 swims so not bad going so bought this to replace it and is a big improvement, transfers straight to my iphone and imac automatically seems very accurate and gives heart rate as well, plenty of information on how you performed on your swim and the added bonus is that it has a cycle mode with GPS so tracks your ride with all the info you need plus heart rate so a bonus for me, Battery lasts for about 5 days with 6 swims and a couple of bike rides although I do not wear it all day only for swimming and cycling as I have a garmin vivo sport for all day tracking so for me an excellent product.

Don't buy this watch - very poor quality and inaccurate
Had this watch for a month now, having had a Garmin Forerunner 735, which I was very happy with. The Swim2 is a poor relation. Quality control has obviously gone downhill. The Swim2 does not accurately display laps as you swim. The counter only catches up and displays the correct total once you have stopped swimming. There is a lag in the processing, which can take anything from a few seconds to a few minutes to catch up. Kinda negates the whole point of a lap counter. Also, the battery life is rubbish, barely lasts 5 days if i do a couple of 40 minute swim sessions. Having been used to the 735 i suspected the Swim2 was faulty so reported it to Garmin Support. Unfortunatly, this was their reply: '...so, looking into it a little it sounds fine, max battery with minimal usage is 7 days, so 5 with usage sounds about right :) and it takes time after the lap to calculate the distance properly. I'd say it's working as intended'. Not impressed.

Much better than my iWatch
I was using my iWatch for my cold open water swims, but struggling when the water was very cold to get it to turn off / end, additionally sometimes the GPS didnt seem particularly accurate. No such problems with the Swim 2 - easy to use, the buttons mean it can be paused / splits taken / session ended with ease, additionally the GPS seems much more accurate. An added bonus is the battery life - so much better than my iWatch - it requires charging much less often. In Summary, great, easy to use product, perfect for pool or OW swimming - also able to track walks / runs /bike rides too. Recommended
