We've had quite a few shredders, and our last one had an oval wire basket which always seemed to allow fragments to escape meaning you had to vacuum after using it. It also jammed on a regular basis. We looked at the reviews for this make with a 6 page feed, and reasoned that the 8 page capacity one would surely be just as good but take more paper at one time. There didn't seem to be anything between them on price when we bought it, so we plumped for this one.It's early days, but we're very pleased so far. It's reliable and has a compact plastic box to collect the shredded paper. This doesn't leak like our old one, and the top has a handle to help with emptying. There have been no jams and although there is a light to warn of overheating, we haven't seen that so far.It's more compact than our previous shredder, but is made for A4 sheets just the same. It's probably because the box to collect the shreds is neater. It also has a handy window so you can see how full it is.One thing to note when emptying is that if your hand touches underneath the shredder unit, you will find that it has been very well greased. That's obviously a good thing, but just be wary of getting the grease all over you.

Ok, so this is a nice product, I am very happy with this purchase. I like the compact size-fits well in my home office. It is well made. It is not quiet. It starts slowing down with about 5 sheets-did not try to feed more, no need. Did not notice it getting hot. The bucket fills after a session of shredding-I d say about 50 sheets, which is all I need. For house/small office, it is really fine.

Overall a good shredder - does the job well. When it gets used a lot it will cut out as it overheats and then takes ages to cool down. Not great if you want to shred a lot of paper in one go. However, on the whole good value for money.

I have only used this once by testing it since receiving it today. It appears sturdy and looking at various other shredders, this model seemed to fit my needs for home use. It is certainly better than the one that has just left me to go to the big shredder heaven in the sky. I like the light which shows power is on and also the red light to show overheating (although it has not been on yet). Fingers crossed it will continue to serve well.

I enjoyed this shredder being crosscut which is very good given the price. Unfortunately, after 5 months it started to cause some issues. I reached out to the manufacturer and after exchanging the cause and the reasons, they were exceptionally prompt in replacing the machine. I thought it was very efficient customer service (Sharon) and I would not hesitate in recommending them.

The shredder arrived early in a sturdy box clearly labelled. The little instructions were more than adequate and after checking for any surface flaws (of which there were none) plug it in a successfully tried it out - it worked perfectly! Price was a little steep but it was bought as a replacement for another machine which continually blocked. We use it solely for home filing system and the size fits perfectly in our room. As to the long term-come back in a years time.

This product costs twice as much as my previous one but seems to be much worse. I am surprised by all of the positive reviews. It is a bit slow on the uptake. It takes a few seconds for an automatic mode to realise a piece of paper is in. The handle on the top is useful to lift the top from the bucket, but it would be much better if the top was fixed to the bucket so that handle can be used to carry it as well! Instead one has to lift if holding by the sides. This is highly inconvenient to handle when cleaning.The cutting mechanism does not seem to be very sharp and does a slow and difficult job.And on top of it all, it is extremely weak. I can barely do 2 pages at a time. 5 sheets jams it right away and IT HEATS VERY QUICKLY, after 20-25 pages and then you need to wait for 30-60min for it to be working again. If you want to shred a pile of old papers, it would take you a week!!Horrible. Simply horrible.

I bought this to get rid of a backlog of papers with personal data on. Then hoped to use it for keeping on top of personal mail etc.It is very easy to set up and use, however I can only do a few bits a time of my baclogue, as it overheats really quickly. On reflection I feel a shredder that doesn't do cross cut might have been better for me, perhaps less likely to overheat and I was only shredding stuff with names/address/account numbers at home, so probably didn't need top level security shredding! Think it would be good for occasional use, but not for any big loads. It worried me that when its overheat light came on half way through shredding a few sheets of A4, I overrode the warning to finish the other half of the sheet and could smell that burning smell. It still works, but it feels like there isn't much room for error!
