Mega Bloks H5 Pegasus

As some reviewers have stated, this figure isn't for throwing around or smashing into stuff. It could be a great way to teach your kids about delicacy and taking care when handling fragile things. If its for the kid in you (like me) then it may spend more time on display.Design & StandThe Promethean Phaeton Gunship is, in my opinion, one of the most unique designs ever for any vehicle of this type. Its so different than what is already out there. All of the traits that make it look so unique are also what make it difficult to play with - because all of those angles mean that it can't really "stand" on its own. There is a clear low profile 2 piece stand that comes with it, and it does a good job of anchoring this beauty. However, don't put it in a place that tends to have vibration or shakes allot - the stand does keep this thing in place, but its not exactly rock solid. I think that for display they did the right thing - because you can barely see it, so the ship looks natural.Putting it TogetherIf you and / or your kids love mega bloks, then this is a nice challenge and you can spend some nice quality time putting it together. Its very nice and rewarding when complete. One thing - pay careful attention when putting the wings together - they have these blades that stick out and add some finish to the wings, just be sure you put those parts together correctly. If you put them one blok to the left or right, for example, its not a big deal, put it may slightly reduce wing span. Its really not a big deal, but the manual doesn't (for this one piece) seem to show exactly which point to attach it to. I am making this out to be more than it is, however, because in the end you get a unique, fantastic, and rewarding experience building it.Playing with ItWhile you shouldn't smash it against walls and what-not, there is a part of the ships undercarriage that you can hold by wrapping your thumb and index finger around it. This means that you can comfortably grip the Phaeton in just one hand and fly it around - making your hand invisible while looking at it from the top / top-left / top-right.QualityI understand per some reviews on youtube that earlier Megabloks sets were not very good quality - i.e. they didn't connect very well or were very uniform. This generation at least, the pieces are at least as good if not better than Lego. Also, the figures are substantially better than Lego. They have as many points of articulation as full size figures, and they are very detailed for being so small. Its incredible! I've put together a figure for the Megabloks gungoose and that figure just impresses so much. The figures for this set I have yet to complete, however, they promise to be just as awesome. I can't wait.What could have been better?Even though I'm giving this 5 starts, I think the one thing that would have made it better is if they included a way for all of the orange components to light-up just like in game. If this was done with replaceable batteries and careful circuitry, then I would pay an additional $10 at least for it. However, that type of thing may limit its use as a kids toy because while i don't know for sure, but putting electrical into toys introduces risk for companies. Just look at the electronic attack Mantis from Mega Bloks - all of the electronics are in one shell - so that you don't build anything that has electronics in it. That would mean that if they make the Phaeton light-up, it would be mostly one shell, and have much fewer pieces to put together.Should you buy this?The Phaeton... this is beautiful and daring in its design. Its so unique and awesome that I think if you are getting this for yourself, it should be on your list. If you are buying it for your kids, then it depends. Do they want this specific set? Or do you want the chance to use a present like this to help them understand that some toys are fragile? Or perhaps you don't care about any of that and just want to know if this is a good item. As long as you or your kids don't treat it like a football, this is a fantastic set that you should at least consider to add to your collection.

Remarkable set. Very good for display and you can pose out many scenarios. Pieces fit pretty good, just need some patience when putting together as this set fits a few sub large pieces which will definitely require an adult to help as the tolerance of the fit is very tight. Also the instructions are definitely not as clear as lego which is why this set is for 8 years and above, and require some level of planning and spatial thinking. The reward when this is done is very satisfying. Really beautiful, one of the best halo sets that I've own. In terms of playability, its still very good , for an 8 year old who practices careful handling and scenario play. Definitely not for child below 8 as the stand which holds the phaeton is not very robust and will break with rough handing. Overall I'm happy with this and my son who happens to be 8 had a smashing time putting this together, takes about 3 hours as I let him did most of the sourcing and putting together of the smaller parts. Attached is a photo of a scenario where the prometheans are running for cover with halo's suprise attack.

Fantastic build! No idea if it matches the game model well, I don't play Xbox. Very sturdy, almost too much so at times. Clutch power of bricks is very strong to the point I sometimes need teeth or pliers to snap 2 plates together. The bent joint that the neck attaches is my biggest worry; I didn't feel/hear a click as it went in so I'm worried the front section may fall off.The included stands are much too short to display it as attacking, they barely get the wingtips off the shelf. Also tends to rotate easily & the model falls over. Not the most swooshable, back cockpit swings open rather easy. Never saw the pilot alien figures in any other set, wish I had more of these space rabbits! The weapon selection is decent as well, I've only ever seen the bazooka in 1 other set and the small handheld blaster only in this set. Very nice solid metallic color! So many times Megabloks bricks come swirled in "camo" pattern which can make matching difficult. Especially to other systems sets. Megabloks tan & Lego tan are very different, which sucks cos Megabloks has cooler pieces.Lastly, delivery was amazingly fast. Ordered Monday night with the cheapest s&h, came Saturday morning.Way ahead of Expected Delivery range.

This is a good set, looks good build was fun but I did find some problems with my set.First I was missing a key piece of the engine that I could not replace with a brick from out side the set.Second the design of it looks good but is very fragile, especially the middle part holding the two halves together.The third and last problem I had was with one of the forerunner soldiers. His foot can not fit on any stud piece for the life of me. I have tried different brands slabs everything, but it won't go on.Other than theses problems this is a good set for any halo mega blocks/construx collector to have in their collection. I hope this review helps some of you in wanting to purchase this set.

We received this exactly how we hoped, my son got this for a gift for his friend who collects them and he was extremely happy

Got this for a great price. Go it from Amazon and laid it on the table, my boy got so excited he could hardly speak. The build was easy but the quality is not as good as other brands, the figures are where it is at though. The figures are like mini action figures, very posable.

Nice build, though the stands are a bit different, for those who build a lot of megabloks will be shocked with the way its held up. Great product and worth the money. The entire process was great for building, and instructions provided a lot of parts at once rather then 3 parts per step. Its nice to see megabloks evolve with their building instructions.

The construx ship was awesome but the company l got it from went above and beyond what I was thinking!

My sons over joyed with this and so am I for the price it's great value for money delivery was as promised no waiting around i will definatly be purchasing more mega blok items in the future

Great set wish it had more flat peices but other than that it’s good the wings should be able to rotate but I can’t blame them the soldiers look great the orange stands out and the Spartan is like everything else

A great set based on halo 5. It includes 3 minifigures (2 Promethean soldiers and one green spartan orbital). The phaeton gunship is part of the Promethean faction and has been rendererd nicely in brick form by mega construx. It includes around 450 pieces and requires around 5 hours to sort the parts and build it. The final result looks great. It has both a pilot hatch and gunman hatch as well as side mounted armanents. The ship is also held up by two plastic rods for display. A better method could have been used for this, as the plastic rods seem like they could break at any moment but for some reason they don't. The weapons include a rocket launcher, and 2 Promethean weapons. A very nice set in general.

Great fun for the kids. Typical of megablocks products, some of the pieces don't fit that well or have flaws. But overall a good build.
