We’ve had the mat less than 24 hours and so far so good. The instructions seemed to reference a different control unit, mentioning 3 AA batteries when ours took a 9v, but this doesn’t bother me. The control unit is simple to understand and operate and the battery cover is held in place magnetically. When the unit got knocked to the floor, the cover opened and the battery popped out, essentially disabling the shock and making it easier to grab and reset without getting shocked.I tried the mat on low and it was like getting a static shock from rubbing your feet on carpet, so it seems safe enough.As for our 3 cats; we call them kitchen raccoons. Nothing has worked at keeping them off the counters. They used to wait until we were asleep to go on recon missions looking for food. Now they’re so bold they will steal the food from your plate if your head is turned.We’ve tried water sprayers, Aluminium foil, and all Manet of sprays and elixirs that cats supposedly hate. These were All a minor inconvenience to the three amigos. Yelling doesn’t work. Punishment doesn’t work, ignoring it doesn’t work. The only thing that did work was locking them in the basement while we ate, but If you need to do that long term then why bother having pets.FICLAW Scat May to the rescue. We received the mat last night, turned it on, and set one of our phones to FaceTime so we could watch the action from the other room. It took about 5 minutes before the ringleader Of the group jumped on the counter and onto the mat. He did not like it at all and I’ll admit we had a great laugh from the other room. We stopped watching after that and heard two more activations while we were up, and were woken by one in the middle of the night.I can’t believe how fast they figured it out, they are like different cats today. Not one has jumped on the counter or stove. I’ve been giving them treats when I see them think about jumping and changing their minds. So far so good. We will continue to use the mat until we’re sure they have the message.Since we’ve only had it one day I can’t speak to battery life or longevity, but as of now I’m very happy with it. I would definitely purchase again.I’ll report back and update my ratings if some obvious flaw is found, but so far I don’t think that will happen.

I purchased this to stop my cat from getting on the kitchen counter. I put this on my counter today and my cat jumped on it and started walking across it. At first I thought, oh no, its not going to work. But after 3 steps my cat jumped a foot into the air and screamed and went down to the floor. The cat was curious and so claimed back up and this time touched the mat carefully with one paw. It did not hurt so she touched it with her other paw. Then thinking she figured it out she walked paw over paw on the very edge of the devise and made it two feet when she jumped and screamed and landed with claws out on my shoulder. I’m sorry, I should not be laughing so hard but I could not help it. She went and sulked in the corner of the room for awhile. I put some furniture over by the counter show she can easily get up there but she is now avoiding the counter after only two times. So as of right now I’m thinking this is the most effective training tool I’ve ever seen.

I am the lucky owner of 7 dogs who love to get up on top of the couch and use it as a bed. Recently, I purchased a new couch at American Furniture Warehouse so I was determined to not let my dogs up on this couch and ruin it this time. I purchased the FICLAW Scat Mat Pet Shock Mat for Dogs Cats and I use it to train my dogs to stay off the couch. It’s a 9v battery powered mat which I liked since it didn't have to be plugged in. The mat has different settings that range from sound to shock. It also includes 3 different levels for the shock setting. One thing that could improve this product is the material of plastic they use, although it is sturdy enough to withstand the weight of my large dogs, I feel like it would be more effective if it was made from a thicker plastic material. While I was trying to figure out how it worked I shocked myself 3 times so I knew it worked well but I knew it worked great when my pitbull tried to get up on the couch and shocked himself. What I do find weird though is that it only affects my two male pitbulls, my other female mixed puppies don't care for it at all, they just push it to the side but that's only happened once or twice. I definitely recommend this product if you want to train your pet to stay off the furniture until they learn that they can’t get up on it anymore.

We have two very large, very rambunctious goofball dogs who just loved bouncing all over my new sectional. They love wrestling with one another, end over end and sometimes even manage to flip a section onto its back! Oh and did I mention they refuse to let us cut toenails so I have 180 pounds of furnado capable of shredding a denim couch in minutes or less! And let me tell you, destroyed denim furniture is NOT in for this season!!!I finally sat down and scoured the web for a static correction mat that would actually work and not cost me a fortune. Cue the FICLAW PET TRAINING MAT. Super easy install and setup. Within minutes the nosy pups came to investigate. The older male allowed his less chicken female companion get the first closeup look at the thing in his favorite spot. With tail wagging at a steady 60mph, she moves in for a nasal assault...the warning tone seemingly translated to her as a "play with me" tone and she dropped her right paw then a quick left paw followed immediately with several minutes of possessed puppy parkour! Needless to say, she sulked for a bit and she makes the occasional wag by and throws a dirty look at the evil couch monster that stole her place, she has made no attempt to reclaim her thrown! As for the older, most chicken male...he's smart, he saw her reaction and he's decided the living room furniture is soooo last season and took over a nice rug in the extra bedroom!100% I recommend this mat! My dogs (and a couple of neighbor kids🤭may hate you but I thank you!!
