3M Filtrete Hoover Y & Z Ultra Allergen Synthetic Vacuum Bag

We have had our Hoover WindTunnel Vacuum for about 7 years. We have used some different bags over the years and all worked fine. These Filtrete bags are a cloth type material and fit great in our vacuum and we have used them several times. If you need them quickly I have found them in stock at Lowes in the past.I ordered and received these filtrete bags previously from Amazon but for this purchase I ordered from Tidy Vacuums from this product page. I however did not receive the Filtrete bags and instead received Hoover Genuine Parts Type Y HEPA bags. The product number on the package I received was AH10040 with part # 902419001. The key difference is the 3M bags are type Y & Z and the product I received was a type Y. There is a difference in the shape of the bag since it is only a type Y but it does fit our vacuum just fine. The Hoover Genuine Parts are also quality bags and so I am okay with the substitution but wish sellers would not ship products different from the Amazon listings.Note that the Filtrete bags are made in Mexico and the Hoover Genuine Parts bags are made in China.In some other vacuum bag listing there has been mention of a chemical smell for some of the bags that 3rd party sellers have substituted and I want to note that neither the 3M bags or the Hoover Genuine Parts bags I received have any smell to them.

Update. Amazon or the filling seller has to get their product straight. The first time I ordered this I got 64703B 'Ultra Allergen Synthetic' and the second time I ordered through the same link I got 64703A 'HEPA.' What is the difference? Why did I get one and then the other? The seller in their Q&A says that it is the 'ultra allergen synthetic' version, but part number 64703A should be the HEPA version. You might want to go to a store so you can actually see the package PN you are buying.*********So, these bags kind of bother me. I got them for my Hoover Windtunnel T series and they are huge.Cons: I have to fold the top and bottoms under to get them to fit. I would say they are over-sized for the T. The card that holds the inlet in place is a little small for the slot on my vac.Pros: Quality construction cloth tyvek fabric, great filtering, reduce the pet smell.

Very nice bag. Really appeciate the latex fitting--easy to put in and stays securely. And I don't notice any dust in the air now, no matter what I'm vacuuming. Would have given it 5 stars, except that the bag is a very square shape, whereas my Windtunnel vacuum (which uses Y bags) has a taller, narrower bag compartment than this bag, so the bag doesn't hold as much as it could, and I end up changing it earlier than I otherwise would. Chances are though, if you are paying $4 for a vacuum bag, you probably value your air quality more than you are looking for a bag that holds the most dirt per dollar. My wife's asthma used to flare up after I vacuumed; now it does not. :-)

We have 2 Hoover Windtunnel vacuum cleaners that use HEPA filters to keep down dust and allergens. These Filtrete bags work perfectly, and I wouldn't have any other in my vacuum cleaners.

I have a Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary Upright Vacuum and these bag are suppose to fit but they are quite large for the compartment. The Hoover bags fit much better. I do find that the 3M bags do a better job of keeping smells in the bag, specifically that dog hair smell. Even though they don't fit as well in think that are a better bag then Hoover sells, they just need to get the sizing corrected.

I purchased these filtrete bags at the same time I purchased my vacuum. I have 2 dogs so I wanted a bag with HEPA filtration without a doubt. When I opened these bags I was very impressed as they weren't the usual paper, they were very heavy duty, almost like cloth. The downside is that they are quite a bit more expensive, but after 3-4 uses you can smell the stagnent dust smell when you turn on the vacuum. VERY disappointed. Not really worth the extra money in my opinion. Would probably buy cheaper bags next time.

I found a vacuum in a house I rented that was missing all of the filters that is was supposed to have. I bought these bags, in stead of getting cheap bags and filters and they worked great. The hoover is really good at getting pet hair up, so it was much cheaper than buying a new vacuum.

It is difficult to purchase Type Y vacuum bags. The price point of $13.59, is not inexpensive, but I did like the fact that I didn’t have to search all over the city for this type of vacuum bag.
