I follow a special diet; gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free. It's difficult to find a tasty snack. I really enjoy the Dal-Mix, as it's crunchy, has a lot of flavor with a small amount of hot (I don't like my food too spicy or hot, just flavorful), and is easy to carry around with you in its zip-locked bag. We were just on vacation and I had taken a few bags with me. I thought I had had more, but ran out about 2/3 of the way through our trip; I was very disappointed that I hadn't taken at least one more bag.

I read about this product in Prevention magazine's list of clean foods. I like Indian flavors, so I thought I'd give it a try. Bought a bag a Whole Foods and was very pleased - crunchy "noodles" and "lentils" with the perfect amount of spice. Not too crunchy, like corn nuts, just right. It's not cheap, but it's very dense so you get quite a few servings out of one bag - this is definitely not an eat-it-all-in-one-sitting snack. My daughter loved it too, so I came to Amazon to buy it in bulk at a slightly better price. The only downside is that the pieces are pretty small, so it can be mess for my daughter to eat. It's now a staple in our pantry - recommended!
