All the parts connected together with no issues. Installing the hinges requires patience due to the way it was design. Once all the parts came together, the gate is very sturdy.

I almost never provide reviews.But the Vail Gate built by XCEL MFG absolutely Exceeded my expectations.The gate is superbly designed, with quality materials, powder coated and easy to assemble, took me a few hours because I cut gate size down. There aren’t any assembly instructions, don’t believe they are needed.Every part is individually wrapped and protected from damage during shipment, that’s important, we’ve all gotten damaged materials.A little assembly advice, put a work blanket on work bench, use a rubber mallet recommended by Mfg, pre drill all holes, it helps keep everything square and tight, use #8 #10 hand wrenches to tighten things down, don’t use pneumatic power tools on cast gate corners. I made that mistake and broke one corner, XCEL MFG customer service replaced corner promptly, no problem. 😉I used much larger lag screws on hinges, believe they will hold up better than the TS15 Tek Screws provided.Should you decide to cut gate down, it’s important to assemble gate initially so you get accurate measurements.When installing vertical pickets initially, turn them a quarter turn, so they don’t lock in the (Thru rail keepers), you’ll need to disassemble gate to cut it down.The attention to detail is second to none, and customer service is amazing!I couldn’t be happierEd

I didn't experience any of the corner braces cracking but I did have to cut all the posts and pickets down to the size of my fence which was a fair amount of cutting and painting the ends to prevent rust. I discovered that the pickets are held in with little plastic latches in the upper and lower cross bars and they break quite easily. This resulted in me using some construction adhesive in the bottom crossbar (each picket has an opening there) to cement all of the pickets in so they wouldn't slide down. Other problems included having trouble getting the cement anchors (brace and anchors added separately to order from this supplier) to grab the sides of the holes I drilled. Maybe my 1/2" anchor holes were too big or the sides of the included anchors were too smooth. The last problem I experienced was with the auto-closing hinges. After loosening the screw adjustment, per the instructions, so I could install them on the posts they no longer had the force to closed the gate after retightening the adjustment screws. I'm thinking I will need to install a closing spring to this gate to force it to close. Now, it seems the gate will not latch shut. I'm not sure if the advent of cold weather has warped the gate or what has gotten it out of alignment.Overall, I like this gate and I made it fit to my fence opening with some cutting but that took extra work and the use of spacer material and extra U bolts to clamp the posts to my existing fence for sturdiness.

Bought fence as well. Overall a very nice product but the assembly instructions could use some accompanying text to explain the assembly steps.

The hinged side of the gate was hung on a cinder block wall using three concrete anchors and 5/16” x 4” construction lag screws with button heads and ceramic coating. The latch side of the gate was attached to the side of the garage using four 5/16” x 3” construction lag screws with button heads and ceramic coating.the gate is solid and spring hinges work well. My only criticism is with the instruction sheet. It could and should be improved. Aside from that, the gate is excellent quality for money.

When finally assembled, the gate looks good and functions well. Getting to that point is maddening. The gate is COMPLETELY unassembled. Even if you are a skilled mechanic, plan on hours just to put the main gate together due to the number of fasteners and connections required. But before you get to that point, contrary to what the listing implies, this gate does not ship with the components necessary for a floor mounted installation. For whatever reason, they elect to not include two floor mounts to accommodate the posts. These additional items would cost pennies to include, yet they sell them as a separate package which is only made clear when you get to that page in the instructions (where they've placed a sticker over the instructions to say that you must order the mounts separately. When we reached out to the seller to inform them of their inaccurate and misleading description, they took no responsibility for it. Nor would they send out the missing components without charging for them. The combination of misleading description, tedious assembly and awful support lead to my strongest recommendation to avoid this product and this company.

I needed C a gate for an existing fence. The one that I bought was a perfect match in design. I was really surprised by the weight of the posts and the individual pieces. This really seems that it will be quite sturdy,

The gate is well made and easy to assemble. When I had an issue that, not their fault, they went above and beyond to correct it. 10 stars.
