Installation instructions MISLEADING, BE VERY CAREFUL REMOVING YOUR OLD GLASS!
UPDATE (27 Feb, 2015):Amazon as usual was prompt and courteous with the return. I received my entire unit quickly and got it installed right away. Everything went well. For those who opt to go this route, here is how I got the door panel off:-DO NOT REMOVE THE LITTLE PLASTIC "DODGE" INSERT UP NEAR THE FRONT OF THE DOOR PANEL, IT IS NOT, REPEAT, NOT AN ACCESS TO THE MIRROR (don't ask me how I found out)-Take the bolt out of the door handle and remove the handle-unscrew the screws from the door panel and don't forget the two screws on the very bottom-carefully pull the panel UP and away from the door (the panel has "hooks" that go downward into square holes in the door frame)-utilize the lock knob on the back of the door area to "hang" the panel at an angle, by one of the hooks (this will keep it out of the way while you do the mirror bolts-unclip the electrical connector and remove the 3 nuts holding the mirror (HOLD THE MIRROR WHILE YOU REMOVE THE TOP NUT LAST)-pull the mirror from the door and reinstall the new one in reverse order.YOU'RE DONE!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -ORIGINAL REVIEW (17 Feb, 2015):The replacement mirror glass I ordered DID say that it was for my vehicle (I have my vehicles in my amazon "garage") so I went with the glass replacement only, instead of replacing the whole mirror assembly. While this glass was the correct SIZE for my mirror housing ('09 Cummins), the instructions, however, were not correct at all and told me to remove my old glass a certain way which did not work. This caused me to pull apart some of the motor mechanism in my housing. Not good. In order to put the piece back on my motor mechanism I had to bang it back together which caused the motor to work improperly. SECOND NOT GOOD. Then upon getting my old glass out, I found that there was only one set of OE wires for the heat function and the new mirror had TWO sets of contacts! Well, I rolled up my sleeves, still mad about the motor, and proceeded to add jumpers to the new mirror wire contacts by soldering them on. This didn't work, as the contacts pulled away from the new mirror back (melted plastic). Now there will be no heat function. THIRD NO GOOD.By this time I was very upset (I am a mechanic and an engineer, so needless to say defective products really get under my skin).I managed to get the new glass installed, heater not working at all, and motor functioning improperly (I have to "help" it move when I press the directional buttons - kind of defeats the whole purpose of electric mirrors)I have written to Amazon regarding this and will update this review (if I know how, I have hardly ever reviewed a product online here and have NEVER updated a review if I did!)Beware, if you get this and try to remove your old glass like the instructions say, you might be in the same boat as I. Now that I have had it apart, I know how to get the old one out correctly: there is a tab on the out board side of the mirror that you have to push in with a screwdriver while pulling the mirror glass inboard at the same time (have a buddy hold a flashlight). There are 4 guide tabs that align and mount the mirror to the motor assembly. When you snap the new glass in place, align these 4 tabs up and press the glass outboard so that big tab snaps into place. BE CAREFUL to get the 3 metal anti-vibration tabs in their respective areas as well, or they may bend.GOOD LUCK! (I would highly advise just replacing the entire assembly for 87 bucks and save yourself a big pain in the...)I ordered my brand new complete housing for $87.76 from this page: Drivers Power Trailer Tow Side View Mirror with Heat Replacement for Dodge Pickup Truck 55077445AO -Jack

Installed & holding. Had to glue clip in before installing.
Price was cheaper than buying OEM which was the only thing that caused us to purchase it. When it arrived one clip wouldn’t stay. We glued it before installing and it seems to be holding. We kept the old cracked original mirror as we are on a trip and want to have it in case the new mirror falls out/off as some have had happen.

Must have old mirror with the circular mount for the motor !!
Read this if first time replacing mirror portion only! Don’t throw away your broken mirror just yet! So I wish I knew this when I did my install. If you remove the dodge mirror improperly by just popping it out you messed up. Good news is if you still have the old mirror no big deal. The mirror they send you here is great but it is built to fit into the original round plastic mount that connect the mirror to the base and motors. So if you did not use the proper technique to remove the broken mirror you must depress the small tab and slide the circular mount of the old one. Then reattach the circular mount to the motors by snapping it into please on the middle and 4 outside tabs. At this point you then slide the new mirror onto the circular mount until it clicks! Do not try to mount the circular plate to the mirror portion first or you’ll break it trying to get it on the motor(speaking from experience)! Good luck not breaking anymore tow mirrors, this made four for me!

It works but has distortion
It works, but it does have some serious distortion. Lots of waves, kinda hard to see clearly at times. It’s pretty obvious it’s a ‘get what you pay for’ option to a factory replacement, so keep that in mind. It installed pretty easy, but there isn’t a jumper wire for the spot defrost. So if you want that to work you’re gonna have to make your own. And the connections for the main glass defrost felt like they were gonna break off just getting the wire connectors to make up all the way. I’d consider this an option in the future but hope it doesn’t come to that.

No hassle return.
Arrived when promised. The mirror would have been a direct fit. However, customer backed out of deal. Return to vendor was smooth and quick.

Not too bad... for the price I'd say definitely buy it...
It fit just like OEM and seems to work just like OEM... I can't comment on the flatness or convex/concave or anything of the glass because it was purchased for my bosses truck... but it installed just like OEM... you just have to be very careful when installing it... it requires you push against the glass while doing so... and the first one's glass shattered.... second one installed without issue... I believe the glass is about 75% as thick as the OEM glass (I didn't measure it but it appeared to be approximately 75% thinner than the glass it replaced... overall just be careful with the install and I think its a worthwhile replacement

Good replacement
The original mirror had 3 silver prongs to hold the mirror in place. This mirror came with 2. We used 1 prong from the old one and hot glued them all in place as the prongs slid out easily and didn't stay in place. After the modification, the mirror fit well into the bracket. It was a little hard to install as it needed placed and then slid into place. Seems to be holding well. Not a full 5 stars for the missing prong. We didn't contact the seller.

Received three broken mirrors in a row.
I have purchased three of these mirrors in the last 2 weeks. Each one has come in an undamaged box broken the steel retaining clips are installed from the manufacturer and the plastic tabs that hold them to the mirror backing plate are not strong enough to take the abuse of shipping. Each mirror I've received has had a broken plastic retaining clip portion this is the part that holds the steel installation clips in place. I called Dorman directly as there's nobody you can speak to at Amazon I sent them pictures in an email they basically claimed that it must have been damaged because of shipping and they said that nobody else has ever complained, not very helpful.

Broken plastic clip
There was a broken plastic clip on the backside where it mounts. Was easily repaired with some glue, didn't want to wait to send it back etc.Other than that fine product, right size/ fit well.
