I used it for what it was intended for and that's for my college class.

This book was on the suggested reading list for an upcoming promotional exam for lieutenant. The information was relevant and current and covered all of the typical topics that are tested in civil service type exams.

This book was great as it helped me to prepare for my future promotion. I would definately recommend this book to anyone that is looking to help futher their future in promotions. This book was more of a real life situation and not a dry non-needed or non-helpful book.The shipping was great, I received it within 3 days even though I did not pay extra for shipping. I bought the book new and had no issues. Amazon never seems to fail me when I need a book, even it is last minute. Great job!

Had to read this for a promotion test. I like the time spent discussing ways to build a respectable reputation with your subordinates. I also liked the chapters talking about ratings. The book is kind of wordy, like a normal textbook. Couldn't see myself wanting to read this book on my own.

Good for studying

This book contains important and needed information, however, it is a dry read. It is difficult to follow especially when given a short period of two weeks to read it. This was also particularly arduous coupled with all the other study material needed in conjunction with the book.

My husband read this book in preparation for the Philadelphia Sergeant's test. The book was easy to read and had some really good points. My husband passed the Sergeant's test!!! It has some decent facts in it, but it’s as dry as the Sahara desert 60 days without rain and as unorganized as Germany after WWII. Had to purchase it for an exam. What a waste of money. The other three books for the exam were worth it. Not this one. It was unorganized and very poorly written, making it hard to read. Also, talk about long winded. Jesus Christ. Whoever wrote this book really must enjoy listening to himself talk.
