2024 SYNC 2 to SYNC 3 Upgrade Kit Fits for Ford Lincoln SYNC3.4 MyFord Touch (MFT) Including GEN IV APIM Module, Wired Hub - 8 Inch

Replaced the original Sync 2 in my 2011 Ford Edge Ltd. I first viewed several online videos to see what others had done, which brands were used, problems they had, etc. I originally thought about replacing the whole dash unit with one big screen. I thought a while about it and continued to do research. Found this unit by accident. It uses all the original features of the original but improves on them. I didn’t want to encounter other problems by putting in a unit not specifically ready for my car, which I did see in my research. Other units were cheaper but this works fine, state-of-the-art, is worth it. Videos helped me do it right, even I did stuff like this back in my day in muscle cars (multiple speakers, reverbs, etc.). Only one problem, console kit isn’t working but their service folks have gotten back to me. I haven’t had time to look into it further. Instructions are also lacking.

Despite the fact that the purchase and delivery process were a bit nerve racking (see below for details) after 6 months of everyday use I must say that I love this product, and it is worth every penny.To start, I was hesitant to order this big ticket item from China, but after I did order it I got a UPS delivery notification that indicated my product would be delivered a week later. A week later a product did get delivered, but........... it was a metal spoon... Yes, 1 cheap metal spoon. No explanation, no email , nothing. I was certain I had been duped. I emailed the seller in China and got a response the next day stating the spoon was a "gift" and that my Sync 3 unit would arrive the NEXT week. Despite my suspicions, my Sync 3 actually did arrive a week later (about 2 weeks waiting in total). And although it arrived in good shape, it was missing a critical harness connection (To the USB port). When I contacted the seller, instead of just sending me the part they told me the part wasn't included in the sale price (even though it was clearly listed in the product description and in the photos on Amazon). Instead of returning the product I went to Amazon and just ordered the missing harness online for about $15. Not a complete disaster, but I was not happy.BUT... I must admit that the actual installation went very smoothly.. I found You Tube instructions online, and they enabled me to pull the old unit, and install the new Sync 3 screen and wiring without any issues. I am NOT mechanically adept or technical, but even I was able to do this installation without shelling out hundreds to an installer. Once I put everything back together I started my car and held my breath. Miraculously, the Mustang logo (which is appropriate for my car) appeared, the system came to life and I was in business. IT WORKED. And it has been working now for over 6 months with zero issues or complaints. The screen responds rapidly to your touch, all the native Ford functions work perfectly, and I use it every single day.. It is so great to have Waze, Google Maps and other apps on the screen.. And of course it syncs my iPhone play lists, phone data, text messages and more. So.....All in all although I had a few scary moments I must say that this is a quality product, and that I'm happy to recommend it to others... It is a GREAT value, and you will not be sorry if you buy it. One more pro tip....I bought a Ottocast USB wireless adapter so I no longer have to plug my phone into the car in order to use CarPlay.... I love it!

I replaced my Ford SYNC Touch with this product on my 2015 Ford Edge. I gave my VIN to the company and everything works perfectly (even my ambient lighting).There were some items you will need that did not come with the package when working with the Ford Edge: 1. A 7/32 socket wrench. I bought one at Home Depot for around $15. 2. DO NOT use the trim removal tools that came with it. They were too flimsy to remove the main dash bezel. I bought a kit from AutoZone that worked FAR better. It popped the bezel off with ease.Overall, this was worth every penny. I now have a fully loaded 2015 Edge Sport with low miles and an updated infotainment screen. All I haded to do was watch two separate YouTube videos related to the 2015 Ford Edge. One was replacing a 4 inch screen with the new 8 inch. You can skip most of the steps from that video. I used it to figure out the steps to remove trim and bezels. Just remove the old 8 inch Ford SYNC 2 and replace with the new screen. Also, changing out the USB drive was very easy.
