Product is fine but I was disappointed in the color (Pearls Please)
I like Sally Hansen gel polish and don't doubt this one would be fine, but I just didn't like the color. It's hard to describe adequately, but the finish was thick and what I would call very bright, shiny gold. The photo made it look much more subtle. If you are looking for a metallic finish, this will probably work well for you. There is another color called Karat Cake and I thought this one looked much more that the photo of that one.

Best gel kit I've ever used
I've purchased other gel polishes and UV lights in the past and none of them worked very well. The gel would peel off immediately or within a few days of applying it or it would look streaky. I decided to take another chance with this Sally Hansen kit and I must say I am pleased.I used "Wine Not" on my first try. It went on nicely and I only had to apply one coat. You might need to apply another coat if you use one of the lighter colors. Also, try not to put any of the steps on too thick or get it on your skin as it will cause it to peel off.My only complaint has nothing to do with the overall quality of this product (and I do recommend buying it if you're thinking about it) but I wish there were more colors that were easily available. I like using reds and neutrals and there aren't enough different reds or neutrals for this product. I couldn't find a wide variety of additional colors at my local drugstores or grocery store and they also are not available for purchase on the Sally Hansen website so I am not sure what is going on with that. It's kind of frustrating and disappointing that more colors aren't easily available.

It's Okay for the Price
This is an okay gel nail polish starter kit for the price. I had reward points and paid around $25 for this set. This is definitely not worth full price, so make sure you buy this set when it is on sale. The LED lamp takes 90-120 seconds to cure properly. The 30 seconds that the box says is a huge exaggeration. My UV lamp cures at 120 seconds, so I'm not saving that much time by using the LED lamp. The lamp also gets really hot, so if you're sensitive to heat, you may want to wear gloves with the fingertips cut out that will protect your skin. The base coat, nail polish, and top coat goes on pretty smoothly, but it definitely does not last two weeks. My nails lasted 6 days with the Sally Hansen polish before I started seeing peels. I've gotten pretty good at painting my nails, and I've used other gel nail polish brands that lasted two weeks or more, so I know that it's the Sally Hansen gel nail polish brand that's at fault here. Shell We Dance is also a really ugly color. It's a dull pink, and I don't plan on using it again unless I can find a nice glittery nail polish to cover it up. I only bought the Shell We Dance kit because it was $10 cheaper than the other two colors. The nail cleanser pads dry out quickly. I opened one and it dried 2 minutes later. You're better off using plain alcohol. Remember to wipe off your nails after putting on the top coat to get rid of the stickiness.Overall, it's a decent starter set for the price. I wasn't expecting perfection for $25. If you want shorter cure times and two weeks of chip free polish, find another kit, but quality starter LED kits are very pricey. I'm satisfied with this kit for now. This kit is also way more expensive if you buy it at drugstores (my local CVS sales it for $60, and this is definitely NOT worth that much money) so make sure you get the kit and the nail polishes on Amazon.

Love the salon gel polish!
I got the Pat on the Black, which is an incredibly dark burgundy that looks black in certain light. I absolutely love the color!! I also love this salon gel polish in general. I think it’s easier to use than their miracle gel polish, it truly lasts as long as a gel manicure at the salon, and the initial investment of the bottom and top coats plus color and curing light comes to about the same price as a professional gel manicure, so it saves a ton of money in the long run. I’m just sorry I waited so long to try it!

Beautiful nails, with caveats
I own several different gel nail colors besides the Sally Hansen, including several colors of Gelish and Finger Paints brand gel polishes, and this one is the surprising hands-down winner, having several plusses going for it: 1. First and foremost, the Sally polishes provide the best color without streaking, last the longest, and smooth out the best. 2. It's fairly ubiquitous--you don't need to go to Sally Beauty Supply or a salon. Target and WalMart both carry this, and Walgreens and CVS probably do as well. 3. If you buy the starter kit, you have everything you need--no need to pick up additional bonders, top coats, or even a lamp, as it comes with one of those, too. 4. It's fairly easy to apply (as long as you mind some important application tips), so it's a great starter kit for newbies. 5. This product is LED reactive rather than UV reactive, which is a BIG plus. No need to protect your hands from harmful UV rays, and the curing time is considerably faster than UV. 6. All gel nail polishes are supremely good at self-leveling, and this one is no exception...maybe even slightly better at it than the others. No matter how many times you brush or re-brush the color onto the nail, it will always smooth out to a glass-like surface, and NEVER leaves brush strokes. Ever. If you do it right, you can REALLY wind up with a beautiful, very durable set of nails that should last you considerably longer than regular lacquer nail polish manicures do, and will help fortify against breakage if you have brittle nails.Having said all that, if you've never done gel nail color before, there are some important caveats to consider before switching from your laquer nail polishes to gel: 1. With laquers, you could get away with a quick polish job, only putting on 1 layer and being done in 10 minutes. That would never be the case with the gels, as all three steps, with curing time in between each layer, is required in order for the product to set, and can take typically about an hour to do all nails. 2. When removing the gel polish (regardless of the brand), I find that most times, even though much of the polish WILL soak off if wrapped in acetone and foil, there are nevertheless typically some parts of the nail polish that don't want to soak off, even if I soak them longer or add more acetone. And if the polish doesn't just slide off after soaking and you wind up peeling even just a little, your nails will wind up severely thinned. I find I have to take a break from gels every once in a while for that reason. 3. Although we save tons of time during application because it dries so fast and so completely, on the other side (removing the product), all that time savings is erased, and then some. It takes as much or even MORE time to take OFF the polish as it does to put it on, and is rather messy. If you wish to remove your current color to put on a new color, it will take you a good 2 hours or more from start to finish...just to change the color of your nails. If after considering this you do decide to try this kit (you DO get a beautiful set of nails and it's fairly easy to learn), just remember that brushing the color layer on THINLY is paramount. Remember that, because this product levels itself so well, it will spread after you put it on, and you want to make sure to NOT let it spread to your cuticles, as this product does NOT stick to skin and will eventually cause lifting if any of it DOES touch the sides or cuticles. Don't be afraid to go back over your nail after applying: Brush back over your nails, lifting off any excess polish and wiping the excess back into the bottle. Because the polish is so self-leveling, re-brushing like this will NOT leave your polish uneven, tacky, or full of brush strokes. It'll smooth out to glass every time.

Good to get you off the ground if you wanna do at home nails
Lamp is good, although most give you different time settings. The bottles of polish are very small, not nearly enough to do more than maybe two sets because of how sheer the colour is. Also comes with only like 10 wipes for the nails, you can use one for a full set to save but just buy a bottle of isopropyl alcohol & lint free wipes it’s the exact same. I really love the acetone in this kit because it comes with vitamin e oils and things in it to moisturizer the cuticle as well which is so good! & it doesn’t burn your nose as much to smell it in the air.

It’s Gold
The media could not be loaded. The color on the box, the ad and the polish itself are all inaccurate. It is sparkly gold which is nice.
