First of all, I love Dessa Lux. This book is well written and thats all there is to it. The author develops characters and writes dialogue well. This book gets you started on a much bigger story line, or at least it feel like more of an introduction. One of the best things is that the intimate scenes are written so well that it serves with character development and gives you better insight into the story. However, while I love the ABO dynamics etc I am very picky with what I read and especially when it comes to books in this genre. spoiler's... On that note, this was on the edge for me due to the idea of omega's uniting the pack through sex (to simplify it). That is the only thing I had a problem with that the book doesn't even get into much but the concept is introduced and I have no doubt it will develop further in the other books. However, the way is was introduced was respectful and choice and consent was at the forefront. That is huge. While I love ABO, the idea of inequality in those dynamics gets on my nerves so I enjoy it when an author addresses it in a plot line or develops their universe in a way where this is not and won't be the focus because it's not an issue/doesn't exist. All that being said, I would recommend this series and I will read the next installments in the future most likely as this author is excellent. I feel compelled to read their work and would be doing myself a disservice if I did not. I am excited for more books like "Omega Required" because that was my favorite thus far. Review: A basic omegaverse story that's..... - Very enjoyable. I read a lot of fanfiction about this same topics and this was basically that but MUCH BETTER WRITTEN. I first read the sample to see what i was getting myself into and i was hooked. I actually forgot that i was reading a sample until the "Buy" prompt showed up. I almost never buy books, but i was very happy to buy this one. One of the only criticism i'd give this book was that it was way to fast. I myself like a little slow burn in my romance books. The story felt rushed and one of the characters even points out how this all happened in one or two days. All in all its a great read for those of us who enjoy Omegaverse and would like to support an author. It's just great to see this genre outside of AO3.

Little bit of story... not enough.
There was not enough story. I would have to say about 90 percent or more was just sex scene after sex scene, which is BORING without a better story attached.

Come for the pron, stay for the prose.
Uh, let's see. Alpha/Omega, NO possibility of mpreg, but there is knotting. Some inflation kink, but it's wasn't a focus if it isn't your thing, ditto mentioned lactation kink. Mentioned consensual gang-band kink, which I hope to f*****g god is in the next one (PLEASE.) The author's previous works on Amazon haven't lined up with my personal weak points, but I was always impressed with the quality of her prose before I had to bail. I was REALLY EXCITED when this popped up, since I could read it all the way through w/o hitting a squick, and I was AMPLY rewarded with an plot that drew me along, sincere emotional expression and some actually pretty gripping action in non sexy bits. This book is not by any means just a scaffold to have sex in, it's an engrossing narrative that happens to have (really hot) sex in.

Hot Shifter Read
The Omega's Bodyguard is a quick, steamy shifter read that packed a big punch in a small page number. It was a great introduction into this world, with the promise that things are going to become a lot steamier in future books. I recommend if you are looking for a hot m/m shifter read. This doesn't end on a cliffhanger (and you can easily stop at book one if that is what you choose without frustrating threads being left open), although the story with the two guys here continues in future books.

Rusty is an Alpha wolf, who inmediately recognizes his mate as non other than Sam, his new boss. Sam is an Omega who knows nothing about his own kind. Rusty will have to protect and guide him into his world while a crazy stalker wants to keep Sam for himslef. Loved the plot, love the characters and specially Sam, all fire and sweetness. In all the craziness, they all find a home.

Shifter Crack! So addictive!
Loved it! Yes, it’s full of insta-bond, little explanation of the werewolf world, and total acceptance of the existence of weres by humans. But, who cares? I didn’t. It was FUN to read and had deliciously FILTHY sex!!!! Virgin omega half were. Bodyguard alpha. The two can’t keep their hands off each other. Awesome scenes, NO mpreg. And a bonus for you lucky fans: knotting!

This was such a wonderful (and white hot) read. There was such an electric spark between Rusty and Sam, which only strengthen over time as they grew trust each other. I really loved how clever and resourceful Sam was, and how brave he was when faced with the prospect of a new, supernatural world, plus the prospect of Rusty. Rusty too was wonderfully rendered. Respectful and so head over heels for Sam, Rusty was such a wonderful character. There was something so subtle about him and the way finding Sam - his mate - settled Rusty. Home wasn't so much a place for him, but a person. All in all, this was such an amazing and spirited read. It was also white, white hot. Seriously white hot. Another amazing read from Dessa. A++++++

Lots of M/M books floating around at the moment with 'Omega' in the title. This is definitely one of the best - if not THE BEST - written of the pack. All the boxes are ticked - animal attraction between the werewolf alpha and his as-yet-human omega, intense sensory connection, mating fevers, bonding bites, intriguing physiology and anatomy - and it's with heat and a great pace for the plot alongside, AND there is basically no dub con or the kind of misogyny-by-another-name creepiness that can pervade in this genre. A very worthwhile and pleasing read, and more to come in the series, I'm glad to see.

I loved this and was so pleased to find out that it was the first in a series. The characterisation is great - I love Sam and the fact that he has his own skills and strengths, things that Rusty can't do, and is more than 'just' an omega. Great stuff!
