This is the authentic brand, exactly same as what I brought back from Taiwan. Sure it's pricey but it's not like you can get it easily anywhere else.

Maybe it's my American taste, but I found these pineapple cakes to be average for a snack cake. Maybe my expectations were to high. They are very expensive also, so will stick with my local bakery.

CHIATE Pineapple Cake is very popular and very hard to purchase in Taiwan. It takes long wait. I am glad we are able to order it in US Amazon. The taste is very juicy and delicious and different than pineapple cakes sold here. The seller is helpful to deliver the products earlier so I can give it to teachers on time. I would recommend this products for the gift.

The outter layer is a biscuit. The inner layer is the pineapple. This cake is very delicious but I remember a few years ago the pineapple filling to be a little less rubbery. Came with a very presentable box and a gift Bag to put the box in.

I read all the other reviews and decided to take a chance and order this. I have ZERO regrets! The cakes arrived within a week, and tasted absolutely delicious. Buttery cake with excellent pineapple jam filling, which, by the way, is not too sweet. Perfect for gifts and tea!

So flavorful, very much different than the one we can buy in US supermarkets. The outside is buttery moist, I can smell a little bit of cream cheese and butter, not too dry not too moist, very lightly salty. The inside, the pineapple jams is lightly sweet. It goes well with a cup of hot tea. Well packed and arrived earlier than expected.

These are the perfect shortbread cakes to accompany a cup of tea. So addicting!
