The product is fine. If you need this bulb buy this one. I found that my eyesight is worse; my reading glasses not up to snuff to be able to install this little bulb easily. Once that part is done, bulb works fine.

It seems like every light fixture you buy nowadays uses a different light bulb. Fine, as long as they last. The good news is that I've had good enough life from the originals. But, then, the bulb fails and what do you do? In this case, and others, I've found that replacements are stocked on Amazon and at a reasonable price. Here, I had an $800 range hood with one light out. There's no way to even consider replacing the hood. Luckily, and for a good price, I found this replacement. As recommended, don't touch the bulb with your bare hands. The oil from you hands will shorten the life of all of this type of bulb. Easy enough to use a napkin or Kleenex to replace.

The lamp this bulb was installed in died a long time ago and I was ready to recycle it when i came on Amazon and found the helpful reviews. This part is the same part as the Sylvania and indeed is made by the same manufacturer. It came well packed and i was really happy to find it in a protective sealed bag that made it easy to install without touching it.

I bought this because a fixture we purchased had a pin base. Why any manufacturer would use this sort of base is beyond me, but we were stuck with it. The color temperature of the light leans toward the blue, and it very harsh. It feels like there's an old, bare fluorescent light in the room. I later saw that there are adapters that can retrofit the type of fixture to use a standard Edison base bulb, and I'll probably end up buying one of those because this light is just so cold and harsh.
