Simple and Effective
Simply plug the temperature probe in to a compatible controller and that’s it! Common two wire probe that gives you feedback and piece of mind knowing your batteries are at a good operating temperature. Renogy products are high quality and I trust that they will work as designed.

Just what we needed
We try to buy from the Ma and Pa places on here. Being disabled . We need to be price conscious. At "The Mother In Laws Place" It is an off-grid cabin, we run DC lighting . We see no need to use the inverter 24/7. just so you can turn on a light when you come home . We use LED bulbs in ceiling mount fixtures that are marked 12-volt DC only. These are controlled by controller with a FOB remote. The controller is board mounted on our PV control center . We use a few of the controllers for different rooms to control each ceiling light . These are fused in our DC only fuse center . This fuse center is controlled by a service disconnect at the DC master box . We also run two AC fuse boxes on our PV board . One protects various AC 110 volt circuits in the cabin , garage and sauna . The other protects 220 volt circuits from the aux gen set and to the split ac/heat pump and the aux battery charger for when the PV and hopefully soon to be wind generated power are not enough to keep up. We run 8 - 6volt Rolls batteries tied by Buss bars . They are temperature and voltage monitored on the PV board and by the inverter unit. The power is inverted by a Renogy 3000 . It also has a multi stage charger built it with flow through capability . These are almost all protected by Breakers purchased here . This is a semi detailed , general description of some of the off grid power system we use . I am going to add this review to each one of the parts bought on here .

Renogy Battery Temperature Sensor Solar Panel for New Edition Voyager Charge Controllers
This temperature sensor is specific to the new edition voyager charge controller and is not expected to work with any other charge controller. My experience with my new edition voyager charge controller was an easy installation and spot on with the battery temperature reading in celcius. I could not change from celcius to fahrenheit which was a big disappointment. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with this temperatue sensor.

Could save your battery
I learned an expensive lesson with solar before I understood what I do now. It's important to have a battery temp sensor as it will adjust the current to the battery based on the temps. This is important because it can shut off the charger if your battery is overheating or it can crank it up if it is cold and needs it. if you don't have this, your charger will just put out the max it is capable of at all times even if your battery cant handle it, this will cause it to boil off and potentially explode. I cooked a set of batteries before realizing this. If you are new to solar be sure your batteries are both of equal age and equal charge and place this probe on the hottest battery so it can accurately monitor, cycle, and charge them.
