We have had these on two of our boats that we live and cruise on 100% of the time. I recently purchased a very high-end sailing yacht that came with 8 HELLA fans and I could not get them replaced with Caframo fans soon enough. If you seriously live in the tropics and want to sleep cool at night you need a fan that will move a large volume of air. While they do make some noise I don't mind because it means they are working! These are easy to clean because they don't have a dust-gathering cage that clogs up and dirty blocking airflow. We prefer the black color as they stay nice looking and don't turn off-white or yellow like the white versions.

I mistakenly ordered this 24v fan when my system is 12v so I returned. I did get the 12v version for my van and have four more in my sailboat. Caframo fans are definitely worth the extra few bucks over the cheaper Chinese fans on Amazon. Having lived off grid for over four years and learnt a few expensive lessons, I’m a solid customer of this brand.

Although the open fan blade is nice I have found that the fans vibrate a lot and when wall mounted creating a lot of noise which is amplified through the wall.

This unit was easy to install and moves a good amount of air however its noisy. Not sure even on low if I will be able to sleep with the unit on. I would recommend for an area that already has some background noice. For a cabin I do not recommend as the unit is too noisy.

These fans move more air than any other fan on the market. But, they barely last a season before the motor dies. And, while it's thinking of dying, it rattles so loudly that you can't use the fan in the bedroom or the racket it makes will keep you awake. I've gone through 3 of these in less than a year...all because the motor dies. The most recent one I installed less than one month ago and it's already rattling it's death rattle.If you want a fan that moves tons of air and uses very little power, an you only need the fan to work for a few weeks or maybe a couple of months, this is your fan. If you want a fan that lasts longer than a few months, buy something else.
