bulk purchase of good quality popcorm
I'm very pleased with this popcorn. I feel it was a good price. The kernels pop up large with good flavor and texture. In fact, the kernels pop so explosively that they kick a lot of unpopped kernels out of my air popper. No big deal, I just separate the popped kernels from the unpopped ones, then put the unpopped ones back in the popper for a second try. Eventually, I get them all popped. In a batch of popcorn (one gallon popped), there might be just one or two kernels that refuse to pop. So, I'm glad I bought it.

a good basic
I tried, for years, to adapt to microwaved popcorn. Mmmm, no. My siblings and I grew up on old-fashioned popcorn. Mom kept an aluminum pot specifically for popcorn. I'm 70 years old now, am careful of salt and fat intake, and still love fresh-popped. This popcorn never fails. There's no chemical aftertaste like I've had from microwaved bags, and the volume is enough that I can decide portions. I am very happy of the size, too.

High-quality popcorn, recommended recipe below
Works great for making popcorn over the stove! Here's the recipe I recommend for fluffy popcorn without too oily a texture. - In a small pot, add enough coconut oil (with beta carotene) to cover the bottom of the pot. - Set the stove to medium-low and add a few popcorn kernels. - Once those kernels pop, add enough popcorn kernels to cover the bottom of the pot. - Occasionally shake the pot to prevent sticking. When the pot is nearly full, pour some of the popcorn into a bowl. - After a few seconds without any pops, pour all of the popcorn into the bowl. - Turn off the stove and, using the residual heat, melt the desired amount of butter. Pour over the popcorn and toss.

Exactly as described!
We ordered this so as to try out Orville Redenbacher's versus the Jiffy Pop which we typically use as it's much more affordable locally. The popcorn quality of this brand is second to none. The corns pop evenly & thoroughly with perhaps 3-6 unpopped kernels at the bottom of a whole bowl of air popped popcorn. Compared to Jiffy Pop it's of far better quality in that sense. Flavor wise none of us can really tell a difference. However, it's very likely that instead of buying Jiffy Pop by the two pound bag that we will start buying this five pound, neatly handled container, of the better quality stuff each month.

The old fashioned way.
Career Chef for twenty nine years. The first thing I learned to cook/make as a kid was popcorn on the stove. Later in life, after years of being lazy and making microwave popcorn, I wanted to get back to making it on the stove again. And of course its healthier w/o all the additives. Its much more satisfying.... and yes, almost every kernel popped.

Best popcorn
This pops light and fluffy with almost 100% of the kernels popped. Add some butter and popcorn salt for a great snack. We use a Whirley-pop popcorn maker and bacon grease on a gas stove and it all works perfectly together.

product is good. but packaging is disappointing. box was overly recycled so it was already quite soft, then the bubble wrap was insufficient and popped. the box was for sure dropped at some point, so the bottom of the popcorn canister broke open and leaked out a lot of popcorn.
