Darkness in written form
I had this book preordered as soon as it was available and just got it today! I’ve already read the first chapter... it is so gut wrenchingly amazing! I don’t even know if the anime could even show this! Overlord is by far the best in light novels, I can’t wait to finish this book and for the next one!Edit: I have finished reading the whole book. I have to admit that the first chapter was probably the best. Obviously as the title suggests it’s part 1, so it leaves the reader waiting for part 2. Not really a cliff hanger. It wasn’t bad, it still was good, but not as well done I think as the previous two novels. But again can’t wait for the next one to come out

Amazing Story
The author did a great job expanding this story. Amazing characters (new and old) I can’t wait for the next volume!

Great novel. Highly reccomended.
This book was yet another amazong work by kugane maruyama. I loved the new darker writing that has been applied by showing how citizens of the great tomb of nazarick (in this case demiurge) think of humans. Frlm the beggining of the saga it has been foretold that they think of humans as mere cockroaches (no offense to kyohoukou) and stepping stones. It was very refreshing seeing it in action. At the end, the citizens of the great tomb of nazarick are monsters. They show no mercy to humans.

A good continuation and progression in yet another kingdom
In previous books, Ains sends his minions off to work on different things. In this volume, we now get to find out what Demuirge has been working towards. The book opens up with conflict but the majority of it is staging for what will come in the next book, relationships being developed/strained, plots/plans/etc.I've seen some comments where people feel this one is a darker tone, I cannot say I agree with that. In previous books Ains has dismissed human deaths (or any living things death) if that being wouldn't benefit his people living. Also regarding what they find the demons doing, I'll remind readers of previous story lines like the bi-pedal sheep whose pelts make good scroll parchment and feeding starving captives their own children. This one adds some new demonic acts but almost entirely by innuendo as no one walks to talk about/relive it.I find this book continues well with the story line, existing character personalities, and introduces several new characters that may become either fodder or Kingdom of Darkness followers. I look forward to reading Volume 13, though will look for on Kindle as I notice they come out a couple/few months before the print versions. Ah translations, I'm grateful they are done but waiting for it when you see the publication date for the original is hard.

A Great Read and a lot of Details
I started with the show and loved it. I knew I had to read the original source material. Well done!

One of my favorite volumes
The cover on this volume is the reason I started reading Overlord light novels, since Demiurge is my favorite character in Overlord and it's different than expected but I wasn't disappointed at all! I just have to point out there are some grammatical errors, some sentences straight up don't make sense and that's why I rated it 4/5, no idea if Yen someday is going to check and correct them or they just don't care and will leave it like that.

The Reach of the Nation of Darkness Spreads
The end of the holy kingdom is nigh and we get a front row seat via a frontline perspective. If you are expecting lighthearted fair, then I'm not sure what series you were reading up to this point. Already I see some reviews really complaining that Ainz has gone full evil, to which I ask: When has Ainz NOT been evil? He has benevolence and humorous quirks, but from the start he has been a villain fully willing to sacrifice for his goals hence the title Overlord. This series is about his rise and you do not have to condone his actions to want to learn what happens next.

Still a fun series. Great World Building by the author or the reader.
It's still a fun series and this one bring about a bit more focus on rounding out the world building for the reader. Some I can appreciate may not be as interested is in this volume as the one prior. However, I do feel that with many visuals for us to world build from (less than 10 illustrations vs an Anime) I think author did it right by the reader to really help make this series truly a mind treat...if "Mind-Treat" is a thing. lol. Either way, I really enjoyed it and I'm itching to read Part 2. Whenever that will be.
