Potassium Chloride Powder

An extremely inexpensive 'No-Salt' alternative! Tastes great! I use it often

I used to take too much of this stuff. I thought, "Hey, the RDA is like 4800mg, right? So I should be fine if I just take it before bed." We, as humans, are able to balance out and shuffle around a certain amount of potassium at any one time. When you get 4.8g of potassium, over an entire day, through food like potatoes or vegetables that the body has to digest and absorb over time, it can generally handle it just fine. When you use a supplement, it is absorbed extremely quickly and can cause serious heart issues, among other things. Trust me on this, I was in the hospital for accidentally using potassium instead of glucose in a prescription formula I had to make each meal. 20g of Potassium in one go... Heart rate dropped down to the 40s before I stabilized (and that was with all the stuff they were giving me.)Make sure you limit any intake to 200mg-400mg in a sitting. If you need a high level of potassium, you can probably get 5-7 200mg-400mg doses throughout the day, spaced a few hours apart each. However, you're also going to be adding a bunch of chloride into your diet, and so I really wouldn't go more than 1000mg total in a day with this stuff. Try to get your potassium from foods, this is only meant to be a slight boost, not a replacement. Normal potassium in foods is in the form of potassium bicarbonate, and is more alkaline, whereas this stuff is paired with chloride (normally found in salt,) and can skew the balance if it's the majority of your potassium intake.Be responsible. This stuff has a purpose, but it's in small amounts, spaced apart, and only meant to supplement an already adequate diet if you need some extra potassium for some reason. (In my case, I will be reordering because I require extra potassium while on a certain medication, and am struggling to get enough to keep my levels normal (potassium wasting in the cells) even while eating a diet heavy in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.Quality stuff though. Tastes bad on its own, but in the amounts you should be using (tiny tiny,) it should be a pleasant alternative (although I like to use it in tandem with) to salt.

I never thought I’d get this excited about potassium chloride powder, but here I am, singing its praises! This stuff has been a total game changer for my electrolyte game—so much so, I half expect my body to send it a thank-you note. It dissolves perfectly in water, no gritty texture, no weird aftertaste, just pure potassium magic.Now, whenever I need a little extra boost, I throw this powder in like a secret ingredient in the recipe of feeling awesome. My muscles are happier, my energy levels are up, and I’m pretty sure my cells are doing a celebratory dance. If you want to keep your body running like a well-oiled machine, this is the stuff to sprinkle in. Five stars for being the unsung hero of the electrolyte world!

Press around and you'll find it.I've been making my own 24 oz electrolyte drinks for the past year (EDIT: 3 years now!) while on a strict ketogenic diet after doing countless research, and I've been using the same formula: I put 3 scoopfuls (3/8 tsp) of this potassium chloride powder in 24 oz of water, along with 1/4 tsp of Celtic Sea Salt, and then 1/8 tsp of magnesium chloride powder. For flavor, I add 1 packet of TRUE lemon's TRUE grapefruit (crystallized grapefruit).I drink 3 of these drinks per day, which in total accounts for ~63% potassium, ~60% sodium, ~90% magnesium daily values. Over the past (EDIT: first) year since I began doing this, my fasting electrolytes have been flawless and my blood pressure has dropped under 120/80 from something crazy like 140/95. I've been on the ketogenic diet for over 3 years (EDIT: 5 years!) now, and the first two years were truly great for my weight and energy, but I wasn't watching my electrolytes then, and my bloodwork was heading in the wrong direction. It was this last step that truly sealed the deal. I've never felt better. Electrolytes are SO important.Warning: This isn't medical advice, but my take/observations with myself after experimentation. I've found that if you're having heart palpitations while taking this product (which is possible!!), listen to your body, your electrolytes are off-balance. You NEED to get your potassium-to-SODIUM-to-water ratio nailed down. Taking this product ALONE, without sodium (and without magnesium) will probably send you in a dangerous direction, depending on what else you're consuming. You really want to keep the ALL the minerals together in a mixture that is natural to nature, nothing in isolated doses.Over the course of 1 year, making 3 electrolyte drinks daily, I've barely run through the 2 lbs of product. There is so much powder here in 2 lbs. It'll last you a long time! For such a good price. Can't recommend it enough. (EDIT: On my 3rd bag in 5 years!)

We use this daily in our water bottles for the entire family, each time we fill them up. Figure out how much you should have based on your weight - too much will give you some abdominal cramping, so be sure to take into account all food sources that have potassium into your daily requirement.We also make our own salt water and we add both this and the saltwater mix to our water bottles to give essential electrolytes. This combination works fantastic for my regular water fasting, particularly anything over 17 hours.Huge bag and lasts a long time. Non-gmo and no extra ingredients. We got a nice container to keep it in and keep the accompanied spoon on top for use.
