The Tuttle Twins and the Miraculous Pencil

My daughter read this in one day and said she LOVED IT. Now she's talking to me about the story & concepts in the book. And she's asked me to buy more! Would recommend!

Great book to teach children about economics

This was such a good book. My grandson loves it. It's the story of how pencils are made and very interesting. Tuttle Twin books are interesting and with great stories. We have since bought many more.

While I've read the negative reviews, I can say as a business owner that this raises awareness of the plethora of steps and sub-products that are necessary for a consumer-ready item or service. After my 8y/o read this, she has been pointing out many complex items that are like the "pencil" in the book e.g., car tires, LCD TVs, school notebooks, restaurant tables, stuffed animals, and many, many others. This is a good learning tool for children as well as adults who do not know how much actually goes in to the goods and services they purchase.

It’s an educational book, but also entertaining. It teaches the child how involved it is to make one simple pencil. Employees even travel to other countries to buy the best products & transport them to the factory.

It's written so clearly to the point without added noise so that the learner can efficiently take out the necessary experience from it. Short, yet packed with good material and concepts. On to the next book!

A really good primer on economics that I will definitely use in future lessons! I would definitely recommend it for teachers.

I ordered this book to read to my three grandsons ages 11, 7, and 4. It is excellent. I learned so much from it myself. A simple way to explain economy. As a result, I ordered the entire set of Tuttle Twin books. Can't wait to read them to the kids, and to myself as well!
