Great Game - Great Quality Used Product
I don't normally write reviews for games, as they are very subjective. You either like them, or you do not. I bought this game for my 11-year old son, and was not concerned about the rating. You are not going to find any bad language in Transformers games - we've bought him the Wii versions (when he still had a Wii) and were always pleased with them.We also bought this game used -- I'm not keen on buying used games, but took a chance and was very pleased with the quality of the product. The case was in PERFECT condition as were the instructions. I could not see any scratches whatsoever on the front or back of the CD. VERY pleased with this purchase and would gladly consider buying used again.

Enjoyable game with an issue or two here and there
I almost removed this game from my list because of all the negative feedback it received (not just Amazon). But, since I played and enjoyed War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, I figured I should do my due diligence and play Rise of the Dark Spark as well.Combat -- As expected, this is primarily a third person shooter (a very under-explored genre in my opinion). I say 'primarily' a shooter because you'll be able to melee attack enemies if you wish. Every Autobot and Decepticon has their own unique special attack that can be utilized in the heat of battle to bail you out of a sticky situation. My favorite special attack was probably Drift's dashing sword attack that sliced up anyone in his vicinity (yep, it's as cool as it sounds). You'll be able to use a different character for each chapter, (goes back and forth between Autobots and Decepticons) for the most part. This can be good and bad. It's good because it keep things fresh and you learn how to play as a different character. However, I would like to have the option to select who I wanted to play as. If I can be honest, I wasn't interested in playing as some of the characters. During some of the chapters, you'll have one or two allies that will aid you in combat (don't worry, they more than hold their own).Weaponry -- For the most part, it's the same ole guns from the previous games. I think I may have noticed two or three new guns, and that's not nearly enough. Come on guys, get a little creative and give us a roster of ALL new guns, instead of recycling the same damn guns over and over. Luckily, one of the new guns became my weapon of choice. It shot out pink laser beams that covered the target in pink plasma that eventually led to their demise. I'll give the developers cool points for at least changing how the weapon upgrade system works. After leveling your character up or meeting a predetermined criteria, you'll earn a 'gear box' that contains new weapons (I use the word 'new' loosely) and upgrades. You'll also be able to equip little gadgets such as bombs and battles drones that aid you in battle.Enemies -- There's a pretty decent enemy variety, especially for a third person shooter. You'll encounter foot soldiers, mechanical insects (Insecticons), snipers, airborne enemies, and even a few titans. The titans are cool because some of them are indestructible, and your best defense is to haul ass! I was very, very disappointed in the boss battles. Perhaps I'm suffering from Lords of the Fallen hangover (incredible bosses). I believe there may have been a total of 4 boss battles, and they were all pretty underwhelming; especially the final one. Folks, I'm talking about a franchise that had Trypticon and Bruticus as final bosses in the previous games, so I expect a little more.Miscellaneous -- Some of the environments are a bit bland, and there's not much to explore, but I've come to expect that from a Transformers' game. There are not any side-missions per se, but each chapter presents you with a list of optional objectives to meet. I was surprised at how short the game was. It usually takes me about 1 month to finish a game, but I finished this in two weeks. I'd estimate it's around 10 - 12 hours long. There is a multiplayer component, but I didn't try it.I liked Rise of the Dark Spark, but I by no means loved it. Overall, it was a fun game, but it suffered from inadequate boss battles and a short campaign. If you're looking for a quick game to hold you over until the next big release comes out, this will probably fit the bill. The Amazing Spider-man 2; you're up next!

Its simply okay..
Im make it quick and simple. Great Transformers and great guns. Graphics ok but the problem with this game as well as the other 2 is that lack of creative level layouts.. After you get past the Love of the bots and guns if you may realize the lack of freedom and creativity .. You pretty much are just going thru corridors..
