Unbeatable at this price point - Comparison with older generation
This is the newer generation of the active noise cancelling headphones from Taotronics, and it shows definite usability improvements over the previous generation:- the active noise cancellation circuitry is considerably smaller than the 1st generation (see my photo, first generation on the left, second generation on the right)- the circuitry is moved up the cord, closer to the earpiece. Having them close to the jack created weight by the jack sometimes causing it to fall off the airplane audio port just with a slight touch. There is a disadvantage to this though. On long flights, it was easy to use the first generation piece while charging it at the same time (as the USB port on most flights is right next to the audio jack), that won't be possible with this version.- a monitoring button is added to allow you to listen all the outside sounds, again very useful since you no longer have to take the piece of your ear just to be able to speak to the attendant or to hear what the announcement is all about.- the ear pieces are slightly smaller as well, which makes it a little more comfortable in the ear (although this could vary person to person)- the noise cancellation is slightly better on the second generation as well, although you really have to try both one at a time to be able to understand the difference. They are still quite not as good as the $300 Sony or Bose over-the-ear headphones, but they are plenty enough to get rid of most of the ambient noise.- it now comes with a travel pouch, which is also useful.Overall, I think the improvements are significant enough that you should consider upgrading to the second generation from the first. There is one disadvantage I see though: the cord on the new version is about 8 inches shorter than the first generation. While it makes the whole thing a lot more compact, it could create issues in some circumstances so you should be aware of this.If you never owned the previous generation, I encourage you to give it a try. These present an unbeatable value at this price point. They have really good sound quality (good enough for all but true audiophiles) and quite respectable noise cancellation (again should be good enough to for 95% of the population). You will not get anything better unless you pay 5-6 times the price, and as such these pages clearly deserve a 5-star rating.

Exactly as advertised!
They are pretty comfortable and definitely cut out background noise. They seem to take kind of an average of the ambient sound over a few seconds and then block against that sample. The only complaint I have is that the cord is just a little bit too short in my usage. It's the standard headphones length, and then has the battery partway up giving extra weight. I'd almost rather have an extra foot or so after the battery so I can keep the battery in my pocket as well!

Whoa...
These earbuds were a delight to get! For the price, I got a surprisingly high quality of noise cancelation. The buttons are extremely simple to use right out of the box. (There are only two buttons!) And the best part is that you don’t need to connect the jack to anything to use the ANC function. The ANC function was great. They aren’t Bose or Sony quality but they will cut out a large portion of noise. I am looking forward to using these for my flight next month. The flight adapter is a great addition, along with the little pouch.I did feel a volume button would have been a great addition to the controls but it is not necessary considering the price.

Good headphones initially - they don't last but a couple months
These headphones are really great. they fit well in the ear - the sound is great - especially for the price. I have now bought 2 pair. Both died within a couple months of very light use

2nd pair was defective.
EDIT: Since the posting of my review, TaoTronics customer service reached out and offered a full refund without requiring me to ship the product to them. It's good to see some companies still believe in excellent customer service. TaoTronics truly stands behind their product, and you can rest assured knowing you will receive an excellent product or a full refund.I bought one pair of these and loved them. As such, I bought a replacement pair when I lost them. Sadly, the second pair was defective; the noise canceling on one ear was not working normally. I decided to return them and order the over-ear headphones from tao Tronics (so far pretty good). Apparently, I waited too long to ship it though, and now I am unable to return it. I can admit that it was my bad to wait to return it, but for a return due to a defective product, this is not cool.If I want to return something but I snooze, I will lose contently. But to limit the return of a defective product (a situation where it is the seller that messed up) to a strict deadline, is not fair. If they had immediately sent me a new one or given more time to return, and perhaps sent a reminder about the deadline , I would say it is a good company that had a manufacturing defect in a product. But now it is just a company with ok products that doesn't stand behind them....

Cheap Headphones/Good Buy
I was able to pick up a pair of these on sale for less than $20, and for the price, its definitely worth the buy. I doubt you'll find much better noise cancelling earbuds at this price. I got these for travel when I need to travel light, and I can say that the noise cancelling abilities are about 50-60% of by Bose QC35s. In terms of sound quality, I compared them to my Apple Earpods and my Hifiman RE-600s. These are definitely an upgrade from the Earpods that come with an iPhone, and i would say the sound quality is about 70% there. The sounds is well balanced in the mid to highs, but there is some noticeable drop off in the lows. But for $20, I'm totally fine with that. In all, if you need a lightweight and budget friendly set of earbuds, you won't be disappointed with the Taotronics

This is a decent noise cancelling headphone, especially for the price. I do own a bose QC25, which works much better than this but it cost me 5 times the price of this. I think for the price, this headphone is a great value plus it doesnt take as much space as the other over the ear headphones while travelling.DesignIf they were able to consolidate the mic and the noise cancellation box into a single unit, it'd be a win win...

Highly recommended
I use these for dictation all day. The noise cancellation is superb as I work in a busy and noisy office. I can turn up the sound instantly and the battery life is good. Very comfortable and easy to use. If I had one criticism it would be the lead; it could be longer.

Value for Money Wired Headphones
I used to own a Sony noise-cancelling headphones. The TaoTronics active noise cancelling wired headphones are as good as my Sony headphones. But, it is much cheaper. The only negative is that the battery requires frequent charging as it depends on USB charging while my Sony uses a AAA battery that generally last a long time. Otherwise, I'm happy with the performance of the TaoTronics headphone purchased.

Great Value
I suffer from slight hearing loss and struggle to understand what's being said on TV. I use these in conjunction with a Sennheiser wireless audio transmitter and problem solved. I am impressed with the efficiency of the noise cancelling function, every bit as good as my Sony NC headphones. Recommended.
