Great workbook
This is a great workbook to help kids learn about historical characters. They do the research and fill in the workbook. Great prompts/questions. And gives a pretty complete picture of the person’s life once the child writes out the things they learn! I also like the thinking questions that help kids formulate an opinion about the person based on what they learn.

Great Journal to Encourage Guided Research
I bought this funschooling journal for my 9th grader to use as a history supplement and we are both extremely pleased with it. Each section features a historical figure and students are asked to judge whether each is a “hero” or a “villain” based on what they already know. Students then draw a picture of the historical figure and conduct guided research to answer questions about the life and career of each individual. Students are then asked to make a final determination about whether the individual is a “hero” or a “villain” based on what they have learned. My 15 year old jumped right into doing this journal today and learned a lot of new information. We plan to focus on 1-2 sections per week since we are using this to supplement our homeschool history.

This is a nice change for learning.
I like this workbook as it is different than anything we have used in the past for my 10 yo son. It is interesting and is helping him to think differently to learn. Love these books!

Great history study guide!
** I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion **We love history. We are history fanatics. This book has so many people relevant to the history of the world. It’s written to give the student the freedom and independence to learn as much as they want to about the person in question and it’s a thick book with 50 different people to study. I did take away 1 Star but only because it does contain a lot of historical figures from the Bible and for me there are a few people from history that are more relevant than Bible figures. I still love the book and although I received this copy for free, I had already purchased a PDF copy for our homeschool use. For us, I have changed a few of the historical figures to be someone we feel is more important. For example, I marked out Michael Jackson and put Al Capone, and removed Amy Carmichael and put Elon Musk (these are just examples of what we have chosen, obviously this could be different for you). I do feel about 45 of the 50 are study worthy and haven’t changed them. This book is a great way to engage your young person and help them enjoy who/what they’re learning about.

Great for a person who loves history
The media could not be loaded. My oldest child loves history. He was thrilled to see Charles Martel was in the book. He is in High School and is going to use this book as he reads through history and fill in the information and will learn about the people this way. I love how different the questions are and the way it is put together. I do wish there were some blank pages you could have come up with your own people in history to review.

Nice book for reports, biographies, and learning to formulate your own opinion on historical figures.

Thought provoking
I personally liked it, though my son was a tough sale. It makes you think about figures we hear about so often in history
