It is my fault, because I saw the Perrigo name and thought it was the same ointment I had purchased previously, but it was not. That one contained dibucaine and gave me a lot of relief. This one contains Phenylephrine. But I had not checked the ingredients before I purchased it. I immediately felt the difference and found it less soothing. After about a week, I have concluded that not only did it not help, I think it may have made my hemorrhoids worse. I have stopped using it altogether.
