Spyder 100231 3/16-Inch Grout-Out

My intention was to remove the grout between my kitchen ceramic tiles but after attempting to use this tool even while using my reciprocating saw at slow speed I was only able to remove approximately 10 feet of grout before the tool had used up the abrasive material on the blade. I even tried another blade but had the same results. I changed my plan to placing a different type of tile over the existing ceramic and the job is done. Now all that is left to do is clean up all of the dust that the grout caused

This is the thickest blade I could find. I do wish they would add a little thicker one because this blade rocks. We ran this through grout, thinset and maybe even some cement backer board. In fact, there were times I felt like the blade didn't want to stop working through it. It does give off a bit of odd smell when you run it good, but I only needed 1 to grind down my whole kitchen floor and most of that was eating thinset that was in my grout lines. Like OLD 5 yrs ago thinset. It's the best tool for this and much cheaper than you will find at the big boxes under brand names.

Works much easier than a hand operated grout saw. But the blades do not last long. One blade "might" clean out all the grout around an 18" tile.

If you have a grout removal job and own a reciprocating saw, this is THE tool for you. It works just like the typical hand-held grout saw, but works 1000 times faster. Be sure to mount this blade pointing up, opposite the usual cutting direction for recip saw blades. That gives you a better angle for cutting and means the top of the saw case can actually rest on the tile surface as you move up and down the grout lines. The only challenge can be getting into tight spaces where there's not room for the reciprocating saw + blade. That's typically not a problem with grout joints that run horizontal/vertical but can be a problem in corner areas when the tile is laid diagonally.

this item worked really well for me and made my regrout job of my bathroom floor very easy.

Used to remove grout from floor, and now family member using to help his neighbor. Stays sharp and does the job!

Worked well, for about 10 mins. Sure not very sturdy.

Much faster in a Hackzall reciprocating saw than anything that Bosch or Dremel has to offer in their oscillating saws, however, after only 55 square feet of tile to be re-grouted I have gone through 12 blades! Side cutting surface lasts quite a bit but the lower surface rapidly erodes to a smooth, shiny surface necessitating blade change. So........plan on using quite a few.
