Fantastic! Works great and Stays ON! (Make sure to watch measurement video)
FIRST: Pay attention to the manufacturers sizing instructions. There is a great video on the Cavallo website. I followed the instructions to the letter and they fit perfect, almost custom. Even if my mate eventually loses one, it’s much more cost-effective to replace it then to get shoes done every 6 to 8 weeks. Her feet grow Fast. When I decided to let her go barefoot it took a year for the holes to grow out. I noticed the condition of her hooves improved, a lot less cracking. Which is important living in super dry So Cal.Now she gets traction on the pavement and protection on the Trails. Love these. Can’t say enough good about them. we’ve been out several times and they stay right in plaxe.I read other reviews about a liner but I tried without and they don’t chafe her at all. Maybe cuz I got the fit so close? Not sure. I keep my eye out just in case.Last, they are vented so sand can get in them on looser terrain. I just smack them upside down each time or hose them and let dry if mud oozed in. Durable and easy to care for.Truly a great find for the trail lover!

Should've bought these ages ago
I was very doubtful about boots for my horse, as I'm a trail-rider who goes through a lot of different terrain, especially mud. I was also worried about what size to get as I heard fitting any brand of boots is crucial. I have gone on several rides now and they have worked great. They are easy to get on and off, the instructions were very clear about sizing, and after the first couple rides I stoopped looking down to see if they were still on. With regards to sizing: my horse has small feet, and yet when measuring them (and I happened to do it right after a trim), they were on the top end of the size. I chose not to go one size up (and trust me - I pondered this for ages!) and I'm glad I didn't. Her feet have grown in the last several weeks and they are still fitting. I've had NO rubbing issues and I've been able to gallop, go through some pretty muddy areas and no problems.

Got these last week and so far I love them and so does my barefoot mustang
Got these last week and so far I love them and so does my barefoot mustang! We ride some rough trails, cross water, climb rocks, the works! Wore these on a 7 mile very rough trail and no issues at all! No wearing around the collar, they stayed on through everything! That was our Second trail ride in them! I'd give them 5 stars but I want to see how long the tread lasts! I got the regular tread not the slim. So I will re rate after a few months of use!

Good fit and stays on …
Was more than pleased when these fit my boy right out of the box. A 20 minute hand walk to confirm there was no rubbing made it fantastic. We followed up with about a 4 to 5 mile ride the following day, also no issues, no twisting, Boot stayed on great, and no rubbing. They look good in and my gelding is happy on them.Pros:- Great fit, Stays on at walk, trot, lope. Good traction and reliable on all types of terrain, grass, gravel roads, dirt roads, climbing, water, mud, sand, and rocks.- While they are a little bulky, they seem to offer good protection all the way around.Cons:- After a few rides, the Trek material started to fray.- When going through tall, dry, grasses, everything sticks to the Velcro and is quite time consuming to clean out.- After the first month of stitching on the Velcro straps came apart, separating the logo fabric from the Velcro.- After the second month and less than 150 miles, the soles had worn so thin at the front end that they developed holes.- Not inexpensive.I reached out to Cavallo directly, they agreed that a one time warranty replacement repair was in order after receiving pictures and my information. Because the boots were purchased through Amazon, they indicated that I have to get the replacement pair directly from the seller here, waiting to hear if they will honor it. If they do, my rating, will go up as customer service is extremely important to me. The reason for three star rating is the durability seems to be low, unless I just got a lemon pair.

Trek Boots
I like these a lot. They are relatively easy to put on and off (compared to my old easy boots) and seem to hold up well. You get 2 sets of velcro which is nice, although the 1st is holding up well, so haven't had to use the 2nd. I have not had any problems with weeds or hay sticking in the velcro when trail riding. Make sure you order the correct size. I think this is the most difficult aspect, trying to figure out the correct size. I purchased a 1 after measuring numerous times, even getting 2nd opinions. They fit, but seem just a bit overly snug. I think the 2's may still have been too loose. It's a toss up. One other thing, if you haven't received an actual measuring chart from Cavallo, you need to know that printing one off the computer may not be the actual size, which would screw you up big time.

Save your money
The boot fit, didn't stay on thru rigorous riding and cut and irritated above the hoof.

I'll never put regular shoes on my horses again after using Cavallo Boots - Great product!
I wasn't sure if boots would work for my gaited horse and on long rocky trail rides, but they worked great! Shoes are very expensive and really take a toll on my horse's feet. I tried the boots because I was going on a long and difficult trail ride and the farrier recommended giving my horse a break from shoes for a few weeks. I used the measuring guide to find the right size (which was easy to do). I ordered the Cavallo boots and paid a small fee to have them delivered quickly. I received them in two days, which was fantastic. I really appreciate the supplier getting them to me just in time for my ride. The boots fit my horse perfectly and my horse got used to wearing them within just a few minutes. I had boots on all four hooves. They stayed on as we went up steep mountain trails, through deep mud, and super-rocky creeks. We gaited, we loped, we walked, and had a wonderful ride. I was amazed. I feel completely comfortable never putting regular shoes on my horse again. I'll save a lot of money and my horse's feet will be in much better shape! Great product!!
