A movie worth watching!
I saw a news article on the making of this movie and that story made me want to watch it. Kudos to Tom Huang who wrote, directed and starred. Well done to you and to the ensemble of actors and crew: small but mighty. Some cynics might claim this is a big infomercial for the National Park Service. I get that. But I still like it. The author wove that into a story about 2 main characters each damaged in their own way and how the "cure" for each (and for us) it so get off our desk chair derrieres and experience nature and its balm for our souls. If that is not on our bucket lists, then it should be and this movie helps us to realize that Rx.So, watch it. Let it move you. And, then, get outside and enjoy.

BEWARE
This is a dreadful movie. The writing is undeveloped, the direction is sophomoric, the music is egregious. The photography of Zion National park was dull, Yosemite was a little better. You would be better off watching some PR film from the National Park Service. By example this film suggests that one should go off in the wilderness alone without letting anyone know where you were going and for about how long which could lead to a tragic outcome. Bad, bad movie !

Visually Beautiful, and Well Told
It's a story that hit home for me. Like the character of Joe (Tom Huang) I have always been one of those people who sat there and heard stories of people experiencing the beauty any majesty of the locations featured in this film, but never did so myself. For one reason or another, I would always find an excuse not do it. Too busy, too far, it would too hard, blah blah blah. It was easy for me to relate to Joe and as a result, put myself in his shoes as he went on the journey. A journey curated for him by his friend Amelia (Sara Amini) that sparks within him a change after he takes that first trip and realizes that all of those excuses are meaningless.Once you get that first taste, it's hard to not want more. Tom does a great job of capturing the majesty and the awe inspiring look and feel of the locations in this film. Your mouth is agape as the camera pans and you are left to wonder, if this is how it feels to see it on a screen how much more amazing must it be to experience it in person? That is how I felt by the end. To say that I was inspired by the end is not just a platitude, but a true sentiment. And to those who know me, a surprise, I'm sure. But, as I mentioned, I can relate to Joe and see myself in him, and if he can do it, so can I.

Enjoyable and sweet
Really liked watching this movie, filled with people you would meet in your own life, just normal, good people. No explosions, no enormous plot, no perfect looking people..just..people. Nice walk through some great parks. A little about friendship, a little about trying new things, a little about getting stuck in ruts and a whole lot about just get out and do something, something out of your norm and a appreciate newness of discovery..well done little indie film

Was ok, some plot aspects unrealistic, but great scenery
Come on people this is not a 5 star movie. And its not a 1 star either, people always going to extremes to make a point. It was well written, the acting was decent, the premise is intriguing and compelling. Part of the movie I loved was the journey through national parks and the idea of going on adventures, solo, seeking beauty in life and in nature, and in the process finding yourself. That part resonates. The parts that I struggled with? SPOILER ALERT - stop reading if you don't want to know. The parts I struggled with is how this girl would go to such lengths to set up an adventure of this co-worker friend of hers. Not like a life long friend or relative, but some dorky much older asian accountant that she probably doesn't have much in common. It just doesn't resonate. Maybe if the lead actor was younger it would be more plausible or if they could have shown why they had such a strong connection? Also he goes and finds her sister and they have a fling? Weird and totally unnecessary aspect to the story. Also some really young African American waitress invites him to go camping out of the blue? Totally unrealistic!

Bleh. Acting / script mediocre at best.
This movie was poorly written and or poorly acted. The scenery was lovely (I rented this for the scenery) but the story was dumb and saccharine, the delivery was deadpan, and the end of the movie was predictable. SPOILER: The main character is a dud, he sleeps with BOTH sisters? Yikes. Like, get it together, bro.I just thought this was unrealistic and poorly done. Save your money.

A Rare Movie Find
As many have noted, Find Me has mind-blowing scenery in some of the most beautiful spots in America. The photography is A-class, and the director gives you plenty of quiet moments to soak the wonder all in. Tom Huang is a natural actor - genuine, honest and simple. I hope he does more acting in the future. Sara Amini gives a different kind of performance - professional and gutsy that draws the viewer into her world of extremes. Worthy of Oscar consideration, I think. In some parts, I wished the plot had gone in a different direction, and some of the dialogue is too obvious and unnatural. At the end of the day, however, this movie affected my mood for days after watching it because it is so powerful, and it will go down as one of the best movies I've seen in years. Big kudos to Tom, the cast and crew for their wonderful efforts.

Beautifully filmed and honest
LOVED this film. Thought it was going to be a travelogue of the national parks but there were tears in my eyes at the end. Moving and a story of all of us. A story that is important for all of us. Beautifully filmed and honest.
