not exactly what I paid for
Even though there's currently pictures of a pair of theses pants on this page that feature Velcro flaps that cover the small side pockets, the new version of the pants Amazon shipped to me did not feature the Velcro flaps that cover the small side pockets. Although Amazon could easily fix the problem of the inaccurate pictures by replacing them with one that accurately reflects the new version of these pants, the problem still remains that Unionbay removed a useful feature when they decided to exclude the Velcro flaps that cover the small side pockets. It use to be that it was possible to put items I wanted to keep seperate from items in other pockets and dry from the rain in the small side pockets, now that the small side pockets no longer feature velcro flaps, that's really not possible and the small side pockets aren't as useful. If I had known Unionbay was planning the design change with the small side pockets, I would have purchased more pairs of the older style while they were still available. The material isn't too bad, I liked the fit and the look and the design of the older style of these cargo pants much better though. I also recently included pictures of what the small side pockets look like on the new version of these cargo pants, these are definitely open pockets and nothing like the ones in the original item photos.

Best Cargo Pants you will buy
So I was skeptical about purchasing these but I'm 6'5 and around 300+ these are nothing short of amazing. By far you will have room for days and they don't look big on you. Best buy for big and tall people! And they are durable with more than enough pockets. I will definitely be purchasing these again!

Not like they used to be. Pictures are wrong. uncomfortable and badly made.
I agree with many of the other reviewers. These are not like the pictures and they are not the same model as they used to be. First of all, , the little credit card size pockets on the outside of the larger cargo pockets no longer have a fold over flap. They still have the flap in the pictures Amazon has, but I ordered 5 of these and none of them had the fold over flaps. Older ones I have had the flap, like in the picture. Second, they are a thinner weight product, and they are much less comfortable than they used to be. Also the credit card pocket is smaller than it used to be, so the credit card sticks out of the top.The credit card pocket was a feature I really liked, but now I can't use it because the cards won't stay inside the pocket.Overall, I am very disappointed. I was always a fan of Unionbay clothing. too bad it's so much worse now.

Fit just right!
There were reviews on here that were saying that these pants were smaller then advertised so I bought them a size bigger then I needed and it turns out they would have been fine in the smaller size!Coming from a bigger guy, these pants seem pretty comfortable! The picture on the page does differ from what you receive as others on here have said though. Mine did come with the belt but there are no flaps covering the smaller pocket on either side.

Very Good Fit
Based on all the reviews here, I took into account that these UNIONBAY cargo pants fit slightly smaller than expected. Therefore I ordered this pant one [waist] size larger (46x32) than I normally wear, and the fit resulted in about a 45, which is perfect for me. For about the past year I have worn a waist size 44. Thankfully the crotch and buttocks are a little loose, and this will give me some room to grow if I gain more weight or the pant shrinks; I always hang-dry and never run my clothes through a dryer. Mine's 32 length is roughly a 32.5.Also, as noted by many here, the Amazon picture is not fully accurate. The outer thigh pockets do not have a Velcro flap, but that is not really so important for me. The main waist pockets are plenty deep and reach down to the top of the outer thigh pocket. Some reviewers have said they're too deep, but I disagree. At each arm's length the main pockets' depth is just fine for me; nothing should fall out.The material is not heavy, but not too lightweight either, although it's.certainly not for snowy northern winters. I find it warm enough for above-freezing cold and rainy climes as well as generally warm climates.Overall I am very happy and will order another pair.

Good for a month or so
Kinda disappointed in these to be honest. They fit wonderfully, felt great, loved everything about them and was going to replace my older Cargo's soon as I've been needing to update. Then today as I'm getting ready for work, they tear (as the pictures show) as I'm kneeling down. Being a big guy, its very difficult for me to find good quality clothing that doesn't cost $100 every time I buy something, and these were fitting the bill till today.Regardless of their comfort, I expect any piece of clothing to last longer then a 45 days, and these did not fit the bill unfortunately.

Great fit, great pockets, great material
The material is soft but feels durable. The cargo pockets are big, they are sewn to allow them to expand. I like that since I use those pockets at work. They fit comfortably, I have a little room to move around but they aren't baggy. They fit very nicely. I'm 5'5" with a 32" waist. I always have to go a size up to accommodate my toosh because I'm well endowed in that area, I bought a 34w30l and they fit perfectly. The waist is slightly big as expected, but there is room for me in the hips which I desperately need.

Union Bay Cargo Pants pros/cons
I've been buying/wearing Union Bay "Relaxed Fit" cargo pants for as I can remember. They fit my body style and are extremely practical for my purposes. I don't like button cargo pockets for obvious reasons that they are difficult to access. Strong durable velcro is the way to go. Also keeping one' wallet in one of the leg cargo pocket as opposed to in one's back pocket is another bonus. Two reasons. One you're not sitting on your wallet thereby creating potential back problems. Two, nobody and I mean nobody else will be able to steal/access your wallet. They are perfect pants for being active and practical. When working they are great since they are comfortable and with all the pockets, no problem keeping "stuff" handy. When walking/hiking around again, all the pockets and the fact they are comfortable, is a complete bonus.I also enjoy the fact that they are 100% cotton which is important since I prefer pure cotton products. Only reason for 4 star is the fact they do not need to supply them with a belt. Never use this type of belt but perhaps some prefer that which is fine. Other than that, I will continue to buy this product for as long as they are available.

Worth buying
Perfect fit, comfortable and made durable. I bought some rip-stop camo pants for hunting and fishing but the first spark from the fire burned through the rips stop material. These Unionbay pants pretty much as durable as bluejeans but with more more relaxed fit and very nice cargo pockets.Cargo pockets are velcro, the main button is sewed on button. THe belt that comes with it I had not intention of using but it is actually very convenient. Will be keeping it for sure. Will likely keep an eye out for deals and buy again.
