Great seasonal product for me!
The box came 2 days after i ordered , clean box with a tight wrapped bag. The nuts are very clean well dried and easily able to crack. I have purchased from this seller in the past and will again.

Tasty for humans and my squirrel’s favorite treat!
I found a fallen squirrel in August, once he was ready for solid food I gave him the only nuts I could find in the shell locally (peanuts and sunflower seed) along with lots of fresh veggies/fruits. Once I finally did some research on diets for mature squirrels I realized i needed to get some actual nuts in the shell. I didn’t expect him to stick around once he was released but once it became clear he was going to, I ordered a bunch of options. These are his absolute favorite! I ordered 2 brands of filberts and they are noticeably different. He will dig through almonds, walnuts, pecans, and the other filberts to find one of these in the bottom of the jar. I wish I had thought about the fact that these might be seasonal because I would’ve bought 50lbs if I knew they wouldn’t be available for reorder. I feed the other squirrels to prevent my baby getting chased and they will ignore the almond if they see him with a filbert so I go through a lot. He was a target at first being the ‘interloper’ but these helped him integrate with the neighborhood squirrels over time. He cuddles, snuggles, and plays and is a daily source of joy waiting to greet me every morning and waiting for nightly snuggles before he goes to his nest for the night. I never thought I’d be so smitten with a squirrel, but if you find yourself in a similar situation and want to reward them with the tastiest treat... these are it!! I find them tasty as well :)

These things are actually edible
It’s funny, but I managed to get the hard stuff broken off of the outside of one of these things, some people call them Filberts (my mom) and some other people call them Hazelnuts! What ever you like to call them, don’t try and crack them open with your teeth, I found that out the hard way! Then I tried a hammer and that just mushed the whole thing, broke my coffee table also. I finally found this tool called a nut cracker and with real effort I found out that I could break the hard stuff off and got to what some refer to as the meat. Not like a pork chop or steak, but whatever. It was actually pretty good after you put salt on it, you could eat it. A lot of work, but not as bad as those Brazil nuts though. Yeah give it a try!

Awesome value!
I bought these for my pet squirrels. They need hard nuts for proper trimming of their teeth. But turns out they do more than chew on them, they love the taste! They do forage them a lot though but as soon as I find them & give the nuts back to the squirrels they're shredded & eaten within minutes! Thanks for growing these I know it's very time consuming & hard to grow the trees that the nuts come off of. Its almost impossible to find shelled organic nuts & even more impossible to get a good price! So thank you again & I will be ordering more as soon as their stash is low!

Always fresh and ready for use.
The nuts always are fresh and ready to eat. We use some for snacking, but the majority are used to feed the squirrels in our yard. The squirrels love them and have gotten to the point where they will sit at the patio door wanting for more. Will continue to be a repeat customer.

Good nuts.
They arrived in one large plastic bag inside of a box. I had no problems with them. I used the shelled nuts to make hazelnut milk ( this was really good in a hot chocolate), hazelnut cinnamon butter, and chocolate hazelnut butter All yummy!. In terms of how much weight of unshelled nuts you'll get from this bag, I would estimate at least 4lbs or just a tad over certainly not more than 5lbs. The good thing about this is that you get control over the roast of the nut and also what other ingredients you use with them. Next on our list to make are gluten-free cookies with them!

Got these for both human consumption and for our squirrel friends
***UPDATE 11/7/2019 - I have removed a star from my initial review as the last two boxes I got were not only more expensive from previous orders BUT, WAY TOO MANY of them were cracked and/or broken floating around loosely in the dirty bag. We will not consume any loose or cracked nut due to possible contamination. The loose nuts got to the squirrels as well as some of the cracked nuts. Last bag I had 38 cracked nuts and 15 completely broken shells with loose nuts floating around. Worse, I found more broken shells than loose nuts (there were only 8 loose nuts in the last bag) which means part of the weight is being calculated based on empty shells and that is NOT something I am cool with at all. Get your quality under control here guys! Price per pound is the best on Amazon or anywhere else that I have seen locally. I only had a few issues with these - One, there were a LOT of cracked shells and three of them that I opened, cleaned and ate were stale and kind of flavorless. I tried two that were not cracked and one was good, the other was very bitter. Second, there were several completely broken shells and about 3 dozen loose nuts floating around the bag. Thankfully, the squirrels could have cared less about getting a dirty nut but no thank you for us! I think the biggest problem was that there was too much wiggle room in the box with the nuts thrown loosely into a large plastic bag. If there had been maybe some packing air pockets or packing peanuts to take away the extra space, there might have been a lot fewer broken and cracked nuts. Of the ones we tried, only a few actually tasted good. I wanted to make a nut butter mix out of these and I prefer raw nuts in the shell for that as they tend to be much fresher than shelled raw nuts. Overall I would get these again simply because our 3 generations of squirrels approve and if they like them (They are very picky and will toss down any nut that they can smell is no good, even in the shell!) then they are all right by us! UPDATE 8/7/2019 I keep wanting to purchase more of these but the price keeps bouncing around all over the place! Won't get again if I cannot get this for the better price I got the first time. I had this in my cart but then took it out when the price went up almost $9 a box. Then I went down, so I added it again. Now, it's back up a buck and I am thinking of removing it again. Figure it out already!
