This book is a great primer, and takes into account the most recent changes to the real estate market. This book is not necessarily for the advanced / experienced real estate investor reader, but is absolutely ideal for someone who needs motivation, and a great starting point to help delineate the path on how to become successful at multi-family / apartment building investing. This book provides plenty of well thought out and readable content that you can put to immediate use. I also like the fact that the author does not seem to be using the book to sell expensive seminars and CD subscriptions, his objective writing style lends credibility to the content. Way to go Matthew Martinez!!

This book covers the basics of purchasing an apartment complex or duplex. It doesn't throroughly cover how to inspect the potential building, sources to learn about inspection, purchasing foreclosures ins and outs, handling renters, laws pertaining to landlords, etc. This book has some information to learn about this potential investment but is not in depth enough in my opinion.

Awesome book! I'm a slow reader but this book keeps me reading more and more. The information is simple but powerful. Thanks Matthew Martinez for sharing your knowledge in this amazing book. I always thought commercial real estate especially Apartment Buildings is so complicated for me until I read this great book. Another great thing about the author is that when I send an email to the email address he has in the book, I get a reply back from him within a day. I don't think any other Real Estate Gurus would do that if you don't pay thousands for them. This is a recommend book for any Real Estate Entrepreneurs who want to get honest information to begin or continue in your quest of achieving financial independent in Real Estate.

I bought this book for my grandson who is thinking about going into the real estate business next year with our company. I wanted a book that explained the apartment business simply yet covered all the important points. I read the book myself before giving it to my grandson and was pleasantly surprised with the way Matthew Martinez covered all the bases regarding buying, selling and managing. He explained the terms we use, how values are determined and gave good examples. This book will be required reading for any new brokers that join our company, and an excellent read for the experienced ones as well. I look forward to reading other books by the author as well.

'Investing in Apartment Buildings' is a fantastic read. For those who are looking to gain knowledge in multi-unit investments, I highly recommend this book. The wording is written with clarity and chapters are structured so you will retain the points/ advice the author provides. This is the second Matt Martinez book I have read (I also recommend his latest publish: 'How to Make Money in Real Estate in the New Economy') and both have filled my brain with invaluable knowledge. Any young adult who is practicing Real Estate would appreciate the info provided and should waste no time hesitating this purchase.

Very informative, however the author was vague on a lot of the issues surrounding real estate. The author uses examples but they are rather watered down. More specific examples of how to add value to property, and what has worked and not worked in the past, would have added a lot.
