Steepletone MBR1051s-19 (Mk 4 Model) High Sensitivity World Multi Band Radio I bought this on amazon for about £49.99 + £4.50 ish carr, the package arrived wrapped in bubble rap, I unwrapped the package to find no batteries, so used the 240 volt lead supplied, I tried the radio and found FM worked reasonable sound quality but Air Band very hissy, not very good world station results, I live in wales by the coast may be that caused it, the amazon supplier said the older steeple tone model may have had some better components. I guess he may be right the older items did have a bit more quality.I found at night the manual tuning dial to dim for my liking, also the tuning wheel has an inner and outer turning system which I found a bit less positive than would be expected but did work. I would go for digital in future.All in all I returned this product and was offered a pre paid label of about £2.99 from Amazon but no insurance, the supplier offered their own pre paid label and advised this was insured, I felt obliged to use the suppliers label to be sure of them getting the goods or be covered on the insurance.I received £40 pounds back as a refund and lost out by just short of the carriage on purchase + the carriage to return. Buyer beware this product did not come direct from amazon but from their supplier.The amazon supplier was very helpful and I had many emails discussing the product, they agreed they could not prove the batteries were sent but made me feel uncomfortable in their mentioning that they thought they would not have made a mistake although their internal checking system had failed on this occasion.They also repeated that the product I had purchased was a low end of market at £50.00The radio looks good and bright glowing ring around the tuning knob, But a lesson learned I love amazon but will not buy from any 3rd party not covered by the prime returns policy.Kind regards to the supplier .

A little packet of sweets, a picture of a sad puppy and a tale of woe will not get you good feedback. Selling a good product will. This radio lights up as it is switched on. There is no way to switch the lights off, so this drains the battery for no good reason. The tuner sounds like you are opening an old rusty door as it creaks loudly. Instructions say that it will only pick up air or marine if in line of sight??? How many people can see a ship from their window? This radio is pure junk. Even the medium and FM are full of static whistles and squeals.

Very poor radio,air band subject to radio music interference. Tuning dial very stiff to operate. Didn't even get a full refund 😭 R.
