Sunco 24 Pack 3 Inch Recessed Lighting LED, Canless Ultra Thin Flush Mount Ceiling Fixture Light with Junction Box, 550 Lumens, Selectable CCT 2700K/3000K/4000K/5000K/6000K, Dimmable, 6W=50W UL/ETL

I have been wanting to replace the regular 2-tube fluorescent shop lights that I put in ~12 years ago when I built my shop. I finally pulled the trigger on an 8-pack of these lights and the difference is amazing. It is not overly clear in the first photo, but I still have 1 of the shop light fixtures in service on the ceiling. If I stand at the door and look into that corner of the shop, the difference in light level is noticeably significant. The end-to-end connectivity was unimportant to me, as I wired the shop with outlets for the regular shop lights, so no need for linking the lights together. The only issue I encountered when putting these up was hanging the one over the bench - the only one I put in on chains. That issue was not necessarily the light, but the way the old fixture was hung. I have 2 more I want to replace - the one in the corner on the ceiling that was not replaced in the first run and the light over my lathe - also on chains. I do not need another 8-pack, so I need to search Amazon to find these same fixtures in the 6000K color temperature either individually or in a 2 or 4 pack. The lathe light is not critical, I switched that to an LED fixture from one of the big box hardware stores, the only reason I want to change it is so the lights are all the same. I would absolutely buy these again.

Good product, easy to install but the plastic inside the spring attachment is fragile. Broke three and had to reorder some. Be gentle. Easy to break, other than that works great and looks great.

I’ve been using these lights for a long time. You can’t beat the price. If I had something to complain about, it would be the junction box. It was small, tight and made of plastic. I did just recently order some and they changed the junction box to a metal box with more room. Love the new design. I will continue to buy these. Absolute best recessed light!

We bought our home in 2022 and immediately looked for a lighting solution due to the house being so dark (build in the 90s). I found these Sunco disc lights and thought, "What a great idea, they aren't too expensive and the LEDs should last for a very long time." So we purchased a 24 pack of 3000K 6 inch disc lights and started replacing lights all over the house. It was great, suddenly we had light and we loved it. My thought was, even if these lights failed I could just buy more and put them up very quickly due to the easy connection cable coming out of the junction box. I was wrong. Within a year there were a couple of lights that stopped working. I disassembled them and found that a single LED had blown and due to the fact that the light was wired in series, the whole things stopped working. I don't know why companies continue to wire LEDs in series rather than parallel, maybe its a safety thing, but more than likely its an easy way to cut a few cents on each light which is frustrating. I thought, Oh well I'll just put up some of the extras that I have, not a big deal. As time went on more lights started failing and I was close to running out of extras so I hopped on Amazon and ordered a 12 pack of 3000K 6 inch disc lights for when more lights inevitably started to fail. Bad idea. It was a couple more months before the next light failed and by that time I was outside of the return window for the 12 pack. When the next light died I opened up the new pack only to find that they had changed the junction box. Not the end of the world but quite annoying now that I would have to swap out every junction box with every light that dies. I got the light changed out and realized that the color of the plastic disc was slightly darker than my original discs, more of a grey than a white. I turned the light on and was immediately confused. It was super yellow, I double checked the box and my order that I had purchased 3000K and indeed I had. In all of their changes to the product, Sunco must have altered the light temperature. I decided to try purchasing their newer switchable lights because surely I could get it to match my current disc lights. Wrong again. The new lights came and I immediately put one in to see what it looked light. As I switched through the light temperatures the 3000K was far too white and the 2700K far too yellow. It seemed like I was right in the middle of them. So now here I am with a house full of lights that I can't match the color to. I think the only real solution I have is to swap out every single disc light in the house which is close to 20. I would say look elsewhere but it seems like every LED light out there is very cheaply made and not built to last. So if you do decide to go with Sunco, it would probably be best to buy 200 lights so that you are covered into the future. They will inevitably change something along the way to make your life miserable. tl;dr Bought sunco lights 3 years ago, they started failing within a year. The new sunco lights (which are the exact same light temperature as the old ones) do not actually match the ones we previously purchased.

I've been buying Sunco lights for years. I have never had any fail. Highly recommend
