I don't think they would be so good. The elastic strap on one is tighter
Fit okay for the use I for which I bought them which is to protect me sole while I weave on a floor loom. If I were using them for more vigorous activities, I don't think they would be so good. The elastic strap on one is tighter, to the point it I is the reason I cannot wear them all day. The shoes are not specific for which side they are to be worn.b they were shipped in a timely manner and arrived sooner than expected. The seller had very specific instructions about returns which prevent using the shoes for the expected purpose and still being able to return them.

The shoe is great. But the makers have sewn the strap in at a terrible point. These slippers used to come with elastic strap detached so you could sew them in as best fit your foot. Now they are so far back toward the heel that they're uncomfortable. Since they're manufactured in bulk, it would be better to sew straps in at the mid-seam of the shoe--hits most feet at/near arch and not cutting into front of ankle. But, an easy fix. Just cut them out, reposition and sew in. As for the shoe itself--great. I love pair.

Too big.
I bought this for a show , having read the previous reviews, I ordered them ONE size smaller than my Sansha practice shoes, not wanting them to be too small, still they were TOO big, so you REALLY have to buy them 2 size smaller than your regular shoes, or other brands of ballet shoes such as Sansha or Capezio. Anyway, I rated this a 4, cause gave them to my sister, she is 7.5 in regular shoes, (I ordered a 5M), and it was still a little too big but wearable, and she liked how they felt. Hope it helps.

Fit well
I chose a size smaller than my niece's regular shoe size since that seemed to be the way to go according to other reviews. They're only slightly big on her, but the adjusting strings at the top help with that. She loves them. She loves how they look and mostly how they feel (except the points where the elastic straps are sewn to the shoe irritate her feet, so she has to wear socks with them). I bought them for her because she likes to dance around the house, and they should work perfectly for that. Thanks for all the help from the other reviewers!

Basic ballet shoes
These are your basic ballet shoes. I agree with other reviewers, order 2 sizes down. I ordered a 4.5 and I am usually a 6. The shoes are just right, maybe a tiny bit on the large side. They don't stay on that well unless you have pretty wide feet. Also, the bottom cushioning does not cover the entire sole of the shoe, so they are not that comfortable to walk on, but I needed some basic ones, and these did the trick.

this particular ballet shoe was a very good value. To me
For all buying ballet shoes----in my experience (for 50 years) ballet shoes run TWO SIZES large. Therefore, if you wear a 7 1/2, you must buy a5 1/2, if you wear an 8, buy a size 6 and so on. I did this when I bought these shoes, and they fit perfectly. I don't know why ballet shoe manufacturers do not explicitly state this, but they never seem to. Pass it around to your friends who are buying ballet shoes too! this particular ballet shoe was a very good value. To me, they look and wear like a much more expensive shoe.

good material and construction, too wide
The material of these shoes is nice, but they are very wide. I bought and returned three pairs of these. I thought they were just too long for my daughter, but by the time I got the right length (she wears a 1.5 street shoe, the 1 worked for length) I realized that they are absurdly wide. The fit is very loose and baggy around the heel and toes even after tightening the strings. My daughter hated the look and feel. These would be great for kids who need wide shoes, but I can't see why anyone would need the wide sized version. I triple checked - all three pairs we tried were the medium width.

Go down a size or two...
I has read the reviews stating that these ran large. I usually wear a 7.5 so I ordered a 6.5. They are a little large still, but the strings at the top can be drawn to make them fit better. I probably could have done with a size 6, but the 6.5 is in no way too large for my feet to comfortably be in. Over all I am pleased!
