VQ Retro Mini - DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio & Bluetooth Speaker

It’s a neat size and shape with a good leaflet to tell you all you need to know. The first time I turned it on it scanned. The Time set itself. The radio played immediately and the sound was good, clear and sounded as if from a more expensive radio. The move from station to station was easy and instantly a good sound, no struggling. Love the shape of this radio. I used 4 batteries but will no doubt use mains. I think this is a good product and it came well packed and has the mains plug and an alternative 2 pin plug. I fitted the 3 pin plug easily. The carry strap looks like leather but may not be. It’s perfectly strong and does a great job. I used the antennae. Very pleased with this radio. Recommend.

Good look with clear sound.

Had to return a DAB Radio twice the price to a well known UK Store and bought this instead, I'm glad I did because it's very simple to use and storing preset stations couldn't be easier, there's a step by step guide if you get stuck. The sound quality is the best I've heard from a DAB Radio, the speaker is nicely built and gives great high and low end responses, there's a nice balance between the bass and treble. The radio is easily portable with a neat leatherette handle and the radio has a great, well built retro appearance. Mains or battery operated and you can charge USB devices from it.

This little radio looks nice and it has lots of great features that I've struggled to find all together in one device. DAB Clock Radio, Bluetooth and a USB charger all in one attractive package. As a bedside radio it has the advantage of a fairly muted display, visible in daylight, but not too bright when you switch the lights off. The sound quality isn't great, it's a little muffled, but it's more than good enough for Radio 4 and the sturdy aerial helps achieve good reception - I haven't had any of the distortion I experience with my last DAB radio, yet music fans may be disappointed both by the quality of the speaker and bass. Bluetooth reproduction isn't great either but is it ever? . it doesn't have the quality construction or reassuring heft a Roberts, but at less than a quarter of the price I didn't expect it to be. I'm really surprised at the good reviews on this product which, having done my homework, is why I bought it over others! I am SO disappointed! The sound on it is really tinny - even at a low level and the DAB reception is shocking! I have placed this in the exact same place as my old DAB radio and it not only finds way less stations but also cuts out on ones that I know have great signal - its like having an FM radio - in fact it is worse as my old FM one downstairs has better reception. The buttons are tacky and you have to push them really hard to get it going. Finally, it is for by my bed and you can't turn the backlight off so I have to cover it night after night or it lights the room up - even on at it most "dimmed". The only good thing - hence the one star is that it is relatively pretty - it is now going to be resigned to my bathroom so it can get occasional use - and I will bring back my old DAB radio - at least it works! I do not recommend to anyone that wants to listen to uninterrupted radio play!

I purchased this as a joint Christmas gift for us both. He wanted a new radio for the kitchen, I wanted a bluetooth speaker and this does both. Easy to use, compact design means it fits snugly in any room and its lightweight enough to take with you. If mains power isnt available it takes just 4 AA batteries which are readily available and cheap which is handy if you are out and about and find your batteries go flat. AUX input means I can use it with my iPod, sound quality is good and easily fills the room, and the dual alarm is a handy feature. Its so good looking its now taking pride of place in the lounge so it looks like I will need to buy another for the kitchen!

It's a nice radio but it definitely struggles a bit if you use it in an area of suboptimal DAB or FM signal compared to other radios.

Bellissima, di eccellenti qualità e fattura, semplicissima da usare. Può funzionare sia a corrente elettrica, sia a batteria. Libretto di istruzioni in inglese e francese.

Prodotto eccellente di qualità sorprendente, ben oltre le aspettative rispetto alle foto pubblicate. Cura estrema del packaging esterno ed interno come pure del prodotto. La radio suona molto bene nonostante la sua compattezza.

In Österreich gibt es kein DAB - also keinen digitalen Radioempfang. Daher findet das Gerät klarerweise auch keine digitalen Sender, was mich nicht stört: Das Gerät hat im Vergleich zu vielen billigen Radios eine sehr gute Qualität und wirkt sehr wertig - ebenso ist die Verpackung sehr schön designed. Zu meine Highlights zählen: - der FM Empfang ist bei mir sogar ohne Auszug der Antenne einwandfrei und ich wohne auf dem Lande - für ein Radio dieser Größe ist der Sound klar und einwandfrei (ich bin aber möglicherweise kein Maßstab für einen audiophilen Standard) - der Lautstärkebereich ist mehr als ausreichend - auch wenn ein Gerät über bluetooth oder die AUX IN Buchse gekoppelt ist (Tip: auf dem externen Gerät die Lautstärke auf Maximum anheben, dann kann man den Regelbereich am Radio voll ausschöpfen) - das Gerät ist einfach zu bedienen (Tip: die Favoritentaste kurz drücken ruft die Favoritenliste der gespeicherten Sender auf; die Favoritentaste länger drücken ruft den Speichermodus für die Sender auf - das ist in der Anleitung etwas unklar beschrieben) - bluetooth und AUX IN funktionieren einfach und ohne Probleme - über den USB port auf der Rückseite kann zB ein MP3 Player geladen werden (wenn dieser das unterstützt) - die Hintergrundbeleuchtung des Displays kann in 3 Stufen eingestellt werden - auf "low" strahlt es eigentlich nicht mehr sehr hell, was in einem Schlafzimmer sicher angenehm ist - der Radio kann auch mit Batterien betrieben werden, was mir sehr wichtig war - über die Dauer kann ich noch nichts sagen - die Uhr kann manuell gestellt werden, was ich empfehle, da der Radio dann die Zeit nicht verliert, wenn er vom Netz getrennt wird; ansonsten kann die Uhr auch aktuell über den Radioempfang automatisch gestellt werden (das ist die Grundeinstellung) - das dauert aber etwas, wenn der Radio vom Netz genommen wird und die Uhrzeit wieder empfangen werden muss, wenn der Radio wieder ans Netz angeschlossen wird - das tut den anderen Funktionen aber keine Abbruch! Einziges Manko aus meiner Sicht: - Die Tasten sind schon etwas klein geraten. Aber zum Glück sind es nicht viele ;-) Ich habe den Radio für meine Tochter gekauft. Sie hat sehr viel Freude damit. Er gefällt mir selber und den anderen Familienmitgliedern aber auch sehr gut. Damit macht Radiohören wieder richtig Spaß.
