Very sturdy fits a twin size mattress my little one loves it and thankfully it’s sturdy cause he loves to “fly” onto the pillows😂

I was worried about how high it would be for my 2 year old. Very low as it says low loft. Took me 8 hrs to assemble by myself as a woman. I enjoyed the easy to read instructions and pictures and the labeling of the parts! Looks amazing and fun!!!! Still waiting on the mattress and a small box spring because the wood slats it comes with are not sturdy, I can tell already, they also were not long enough and some of the nails just weren’t able to be nailed into the wood frame securely because they weren’t long enough, which is probably why some reviewers mentioned the wood slats breaking. That is my concern also as I haven’t used this bed yet but did buy a twin pallet to lay on top of the wood slats in hopes of giving the wood slats more of a sturdy foundation so they don’t break. I also couldn’t find a 4inch mattress for this bed, which would have been ideal to ensure that the mattress isn’t too high. But I have to wait for the mattress to arrive to see the end product of mattress plus bed. Also, there was a piece of wood that was chipped and looked painted over. Since the bed looks nice overall, I’ll still give it perfect review. Lastly, some of the paint could’ve been coated thicker as I can see the brown wood underneath paint on the ladder which seems to not have been coated well. Nonetheless, still looks great overall. My son hasn’t used this bed yet so hopefully the reviews stay the same after he uses it.

First I would like to say that DONCO has excellent customer service. I had a question about assembly and Tony went above and beyond to help me. I appreciate that this was made out of REAL wood. I assembled this on my own in two hours. Directions were simple and easy to follow. I’ve seen comments regarding the chalkboard, it is a real chalkboard. Perhaps not classroom quality, but we use the Crazyart chalk and it draws and erases fine. My two year old has does a great job getting up and down and is obsessed with his big boy bed. He’s got a small room so this was the perfect size. I added the height of how high it comes off the ground. It is a LOW loft. It’s great for storage but couldn’t be used as a hang out spot for an older kid. Overall, I am VERY impressed with this product. I normally avoid furniture purchases off of Amazon but we are so happy with the bed. This is a great value for your money.

I bought this bed for my 2-year-old and he loves it, he plays on it all the time and even slides his toys down it with him... It was pretty easy to assemble and seems to be very durable, but the chalkboard I would say is best to be used with chalk markers instead of actual chalk sticks because it's not really the proper board or coding for it to be used with the sticks.

My son loves this, only giving 4 stars bc instructions were sorta clear, more than half of the labels is not there and the holes do not line up, it does leave a gap. Other than that my son loves it; very sturdy and only took me 2 hours, 1 hour with myself and another hour with a help of a friend.EditSo the chalkboard actually works, I know some complained but I personally used crayola chalk and it works just fine

This is an incredible value for the money! The white wash is beautiful and the bed is very sturdy. For the price, this is an outstanding find.A couple things to note if you are considering: 1. Be sure to use a hex bit with a cordless drill for quick assembly, and 2. don’t plan to use the “chalk board” as it doesn’t seem to be the right finish to really function as a chalk board. Although you could easily re-spray the chalkboard finish before assembly, and it may improve this feature.Overall, it’s still a beautiful bed and well worth the money. So if you’re on the fence, just go for it... you won’t regret it.

Purchased in November of 2020 for my 3 year old daughter. Front manufactured wood piece just broke February 2023. Donco does not replace broken particle board pieces. Seller does not provide nor sell replacement parts. Seller should specify that the bed frame is not made of real pine wood. Perhaps the chalkboard…maybe the slide have solid pine wood pieces. As pictured the main support for the front of the bed, which you attach the ramp, chalkboard and slide to, is made of weak manufactured particle board.

It is a solid bed and quality materials, but it’s a pain in the butt to get in and out of unless you are a tiny child. I can’t even sit on the edge of the bed to rub his back while he falls asleep. My son does love it though. It’s just very annoying for me! It’s super hard to make the bed and I have to lift him up really high to get him in it if he falls asleep and I have to put him in his bed. So I guess it’s great for the kids but not so great as a parent. I wish I would have just gotten a traditional bunk bed instead.
