and it is just wonderful. As I said earlier
UPDATE: Shortly after I posted this one star review, I was contacted by the Wrenwane Company informing me that they had sent me a replacement timer. They reached out to me, unsolicited, as I had not contacted them requesting anything. I received the timer, and it is just wonderful. As I said earlier, it is easy to set, to read, and to hear. This new one is working perfectly, and I am completely happy with it. I'm very impressed with the Wrenwane Company, their Customer Service Department is incredible in their efforts to have a happy customer, and I am definitely that. I couldn't ask for better treatment by a company, or a better product. I have no idea why the first one failed, it could have been something that happened to it during shipping to me. All I know is that the replacement is functioning perfectly and I'm delighted.Qthis is a WONDERFUL timer! It's loud enough to hear, numbers are large enough to see, and I was in love with it for about one week. The it quit working! I could only see the top half of the numbers, nothing I did would fix it. I was sad because it was otherwise perfect.

Magnets On Back Are Cool, Working Well For Past Two Months, Survives a few drops and Throws
We have been using this timer for a tiny bit over two months now. I purchased it to help our sweet daughter stay on task. She's very much like her mama, a mini me in many ways, and every bit as much of a dreamer at her age as I was. So, easily distractible...ok, sometimes, I'm still easily distractible. So, timers really help her keep her focus, and the previous one we purchased was a dud, and I kind of wanted to stop being in charge of calling up to her how much time she had left from the microwave timer, and I wanted one she could take with her. This timer is super cool. It has magnets, so it can stick to the fridge or anything metal when not in use, or whenever you need it to. It works as a stop watch and a timer. The display is easy to read, and it's survived being dropped and our son throwing it a couple of times. He also tried to chew on it a time or two also. I was initially worried that the stand on the back for propping it up wouldn't last because the plastic is thinner, but it's survived being thrown, being dropped, having our little man try and fold it back, so I think it's decent enough. It's not putting too much drain on the battery, so I think this is a good one and have no problem recommending this timer.

I got sick of spending money on timers that just didn't work.
I needed a dependable, loud, portable, easy to use timer for my mother. At 96 she is still cooking and baking but is a bit forgetful at times. ALL - literally ALL - the other timers we had purchased over the past 14 years - I think we have tried them ALL now - for her to use were manual and for various reasons just stopped working. Some wouldn't ring after a while when the time was up, some would stop mid-way thru the time period. It was frustrating for her and me and detrimental to the baking results. So I tried this one. This was the first timer we chose that was digital and we definitely picked a winner! The overall is conveniently small, but the controls are large, easy to use, and the numbers large enough for her (and me) to see without glasses. Yes, I have started using this as well. I love the fact that it can be used flat or standing on the counter or tucked into a pocket as you walk around the house. And love that it has an on/off switch on the side so the battery doesn't wear down. The only thing I would change possibly is making the indicators on the control buttons as easy to see as the word "CLEAR" on the time clear function. Simple etched letters are a bit hard to see. A lot of middle aged and older women are still cooking and a simple step like this would make it easier for them to get used to the way a digital timer works. I know the younger crowd will use their phones as timers right now, but later in life they may want to turn their phones off at some time and use simple, dependable timer like this one. As a matter of fact, I just bought my second one about a year after the first. No, there is nothing wrong with the first one - we use it daily - but I didn't want to be without one if it stops working for whatever reason. I have never used the magnet feature - guess it just really isn't a necessity for me - so I can't comment on what seems to be the major complaint of other reviewers.
