Hollywood Fashion Secrets Temporary Hem Tape, No-Sew Fabric Adhesive, 18 Strips

I was looking for an easy & inexpensive way to temporarily hem a dress for a wedding without having to go to a tailor. This tape is easy to use & no ironing required - worked fantastic !

I was pleased with hem tape. I used the tape on my polyester-spandex pants. Worked well.

I used this as hem tape for medium-heavy trousers for the day. It worked well for this application. The individual strips make it easy to put on and the backing peels off reasonably easily - might need tweezers if you have no fingernails. At the end of the day, the tape also came off without much problem. However, I had a lot of difficulty opening the tin container, asked for help, and my helper also had trouble. It is difficult to grip the top of the container separately from the bottom. I felt that I would break fingernails if I kept at it and ended up smashing the tin with a hammer and then placing the strips in a baggie for safe-keeping.

This Hollywood Fashion Secrets temporary hem tape averted a disaster. I had a formal wedding to attend, 2 items were way too long (2 jumpsuits) and absolutely had to be hemmed; however, I had procrastinated about getting the items to alterations, it was too late now, and I was desperate!!! When I checked Amazon this brand was suggested even in reviews of similar products as having stronger, long lasting adhesion. I ordered 3 tins to be sent to my hotel and hoped for the best. Literally, I was "hemming" each jumpsuit just hours before needing to wear them! I quickly figured out how to apply the tape and the process went quickly. The adhesion was strong and secure for both jumpsuits!! The hemmed fabric was smooth with no wrinkles. Just to be sure I had also ordered temporary hem tape from 2 other brands. When I tested them the adhesion easily and quickly came apart. This tape is easy to remove with no sticky residue left. I've ordered more tins because this temporary tape will be essential for more items where I need to adjust the hem depending on the heel height of my shoes. The metal storage tin is nice, but it is RIDICULOUSLY hard to open!!!!! With all 3 tins I thought I wasn't going to be able to open them. Had to use a bottle opener to pry open the tops and able to adjust the closure so I can reliably open the tins. Nice storage boxes for bracelets, necklaces, and more.

I had to last minute hem a dress and this worked really well. Not a single one came off and even if I had to readjust one, I was able to peel it off and reapply perfectly. You could see somewhat see where it was placed through the fabric, but it was barely noticeable and no one could tell what it was thinking it was natural.

I’m sure this works fine for lightweight fabric, but I followed the directions exactly on a velvet dress I have (using about 12 strips), and it was like I tried using Scott’s double-sided tape. LolI looked all over the packaging, but there’s no mention of that exception.If (since) it’s not good for certain materials, it would be nice to read that before buying.Thankfully, it was not expensive, so it wasn’t much of a loss.Giving it 3 stars since it may work for something else, but so far, it was a waste of money.

I wish I could sew. When the hem of my skirt started unraveling at work I panicked as I sadly wait until I see my mom for all of my sewing needs and I didn’t want to have to wait months until I could wear it again. Luckily- this exists! Easy to apply, and worth the money! I haven’t washed the skirt yet with the tape on so we’ll see if it stays or if I have to reapply.

I have used different brands of tape this one by far is one of the best . I definitely recommend
