I am 62 years old. I went on weight watchers and needed to loose 50 pounds. There are a lot of ladies that use hula hoops now to help in their weight loss so I went on a search on Amazon to see if I could find one that would work for me. I bought a hula hoop from Walmart but it wasn't big enough for me in circumference. I am 6'2 and needed one that would swing out wider. I thought I would take a big chance when I bought this because I just wasn't sure if I would even be able to do it anymore, many years have went by since I have done this. When I got it I did as instructed and laid it flat on the floor for 24 hours. It was all I could do was wait and when the waiting period was over I had to wait longer because we had rain for a long period of time. Finally I was able to go outside and use it. At first it was a struggle because it had been so long since I have done this but it didn't take long and I was doing very well. I have lost 46 pounds and I believe the hoop has helped me greatly!! I am so so glad that I ordered this hula hoop and that I can actually use it. I appreciate that the circumference of the hoop is bigger then most and being weighted adds a lot of help in being easier to swing on my hips. I will add a video or picture later on to show you how easy it really is.My 11 year old granddaughter loves it too, and wants me to get her one.

This hoop feels substantial, weighty but not cumbersome, and overall very well made with great attention to detail. I chose the 'Black' option which has alternating matte black and reflective rainbow sparkle tape; very aesthetically pleasing. I'm 5'5" 115 pounds; I chose the SMALL (36" diameter) which is the perfect size. I was looking for a "serious" hoop to use for exercise and general endorphin-boosting. I browsed numerous hula hoops before settling on this one based on others' positive reviews. Upon unpacking it I knew I'd made the right choice -- it exceeded my expectations. I'd repurchase this hoop as well as recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

The hoop I'm reviewing was actually purchased for my sister, who will be 62 this year. I currently own Iris, the purple hoop and I am in absolute LOVE! Hooping is so much fun and with practice, you really impress yourself! After showing my two sisters and a coworker a video of me hooping (I'm 49, by the way), they saw how much fun I was having and ALL purchased their own hoops from Spinsters. Awesome hoop, quick shipping, just good stuff all the way AROUND....no pun intended! If you have time for a new addiction, this should be it, and this should be your first hoop. 💕

Came in a timely manner. If you follow the instructions exactly and VERY CAREFULLY remove the wrapping, it comes off easily and completely with no problems. I think whoever was complaining about that must be an impatient person. It does uncoil perfectly IF YOU LEAVE IT ALONE for 24 hrs like the instructions say! I am not sure how much it weighs. Feels light but not as light as something you would buy in the toy department of a store like Walmart. I used the guide based on my height and weight to order and it feels just right to met I can keep it going easily. I would definitely purchase this item again and I can recommend the Seller as someone who seems willing to correct any problem you may encounter. Luckily my transaction was very smooth and I am very happy with my purchase.

The hoop arrived before I expected it and it is beautiful, shiny, and appears to be quality material. So, for that I could give it 5 stars because I am very happy with how it looks. But, it isn't very heavy at all. I use to make my own hula hoops from black poly tubing but my local Lowe's doesn't carry the supplies anymore so I ordered this one. I was expecting it to be 3/4" and heavy weighted but it is very very light. It is almost as light as the store ones. I couldn't keep it up above my waist for very long because it is too light. I will keep searching or try to find the materials online and make my own again. Taking a star off because it should be heavier since it is advertised as weighted.

Great weighted hoop. I am 5'2" and the small size was pretty big on me. Like, really big. But that's okay. I wanted to thank this hoop for introducing me to the wonderful, fabulous world of hoop dance. I learned quickly that you shouldn't hoop dance with weighted hoops (many bruised shoulders, collar bones, and wrists taught me that one!). If you're looking to hoop for fitness and exercise, this is the hoop for you! Do it while you're watching TV, do it after a workout to get in some cardio, do it while meditating (trust me, the circular motion of your body is a time-trusted form of meditation, helping you clear your mind and focus). And then, when you start to crave something a little more challenging (which you will, because hula hooping is incredibly endorphin-inducing!) do a little research and buy yourself a good, more lightweight HDPE dance hoop of etsy to start your hoop journey.This hoop was my first hoop I've ever purchased, and whereas I have graduated and now sport a beautiful, 28-inch 5/8 polypro, I will never forget the hoop that started it all and changed my life.A little fair warning: 1.5 lbs seems light, but once you have that hoop spinning around your waist for twenty minutes you'll definitely regret thinking that. If you have a thin waist and bony hips, it might cause bruising, so be careful.

No, really, it’s beautiful and perfect! I’ve been learning hoop tricks successfully with a 36” polypro, but my waist hooping was lagging a bit. I debated for a long time between this hoop and a cheaper “exercise” hoop, and I am SO GLAD I got this one! It came quickly and is exactly what I needed to beat that on-body learning curve. I am 5’6” 160# and the 40” hoop is exactly right. Too big for most tricks, but ideal for waist hooping.
