Easy to apply, low odor, fast drying. Looks beautiful on the old floors. It does require 3 or 4 coats and I lightly sanded before the last coat.

I am relatively new to wood floors, so cannot compare this to other choices. However, I was happy enough with the first gallon that I purchased two more. It came out well, was easier to apply, and much less odorous than an oil-based varnish that I had used before. I tried a lambs wool applicator but found that it would catch on small edges of my floor and leave fibers. I had better success with an synthetic applicator pad designed for staining decks. The odor is a little strong when applying. I wore a respirator to be safe. But it fades quickly and is completely gone in about 48 hours.

I used this a few weeks ago to refinish my floors. There are several things about it I liked. I did find it to be fairly odorless, which was nice. It also went on very easily and smoothly. It dried quickly and was able to walk across it after 2 hours without issue. I found that two coats looked much nicer than one. The only frustration I have is that I feel like it scratches pretty easily. If I knew it would show surface level scratches as easily as it does, I probably would have picked something else. But I’m not interested in redoing it for now.

I bought this for stair steps. I practiced using a fiam roller, a regular brush and a foam brush. I ended up using a foam brush and it went on very nicely. I applied 3 coats, letting dry for 12 hours between coats. I sanded between each coat and the finish was shiny, but not glossy. I like the natural look and easy clean up of the washable Varathane. The only problem was I has to order it twice. The first gallon was so badly banged up that the entire gallon had leaked out before it was delivered. Plus, they wanted it returned in the original packaging, which, after 3 days, was stll wet and dripping with polyurethane from the inside of the box. I had to scrub my driveway where the UPS driver left it. It put me a week behind in my stairs project.

I beg to differ with the reviews that said there is a strong odor.I have found the odor to be minimal without even opening a window. Also, I found that each coat (on our log home wood floors) dried within an hour to the touch. Easy to work with and goes on crystal clear as the product states. Very pleased with the results.

Opened cardboard box this came in. Varathane can container inside badly dented from being thrown around, leaked out inside delivery box. Damage so bad to can could not reseal lid top. Had to find clean container to pour product into for use. Varathane a really good product but would strongly recommend buying from local store if available in your area. Only reason I bought through Amazon was because stores near me quit carrying. Would have given overall 5 stars if condition of delivery wasn't so bad. Wish Amazon would let customers rate the delivery service with reviews going to the delivery companies.

Let me start off by saying this is not the first floor ive done. In all my years Ive never had a product bubble worse than this one when flooring. 3 thin coats with light sanding and vacuuming in between. When I left the room everything was glossy and beautiful, just to return about 30 minutes later and see bubbles forming. This is due to the product off-gassing, and due to this the floor has an awful bumpy texture and looks ugly. I cant walk across the wet floor to brush the new bubbles out, so theres no way to get rid of them without completely sanding and redoing the floor. Customer is not pleased, will not use this product again. Also takes multiple orders to receive the product because they pack it loosely and the lid falls off during shipment. Price has increased $15 in only a month and hasnt gone back down.

I have used products like this before and they didn't work well so I was really skeptical of this one. BUT! I painted my bathroom floor with chalk paint and coated it with this stuff and it worked GREAT. Nothing sticks to it and it's super easy to clean. I made sure to not place anything on it for a few days like it said in the instructions- I feel like this part is super important. It definitely needs a vented area because the smell can still get pretty strong even though it's low odor.
