There is nothing I love more than spending a few hours in my kitchen making delicious purees for babies. But let me tell you – the Babycook Neo is 💯 amazing! I have tried every single baby food maker on the market, and the BEABA Babycook stands above the rest. It’s easy to use, simple to clean, and makes a smooth puree that is bursting with flavor. While most baby food makers fall short with the blender section of the machine, the Babycook has a mighty blade that makes a puree as smooth as a Blendtec or Vitamix does. This is saying something since those blenders are a single focus gadget with a hefty price point. The Babycook Neo is super easy to use, even with a squirming baby in your arms!RelatedBest Baby Food Storage Containers – Plus 6 Tips on Freezing and ThawingHand pouring water into the Beaba tank.Hand locking the lid in place.Wooden cutting board with chopped sweet potatoes a veggie peeler and the Beaba stainless steel basket sitting on a white counter.Hand holding the Beaba stainless steel basket with chopped sweet potatoes inside.Up close shot of a Beaba babycook with the steam light on.Hand hitting the blend button on a black Beaba babycook.Glass blending jar with pureed sweet potato with spoon holding some of the puree.Beaba multiportions filled with sweet potato puree. How to Use the Beaba Babycook NeoMaking Baby FoodHere are the basic steps you would follow using the BEABA Babycook:Cut food into the same size pieces – roughly 1-inch cubes.Fill the stainless steel tank with water to the indicated line (level 1, 2, or 3).Close and lock the tank lid.Fill the stainless steel basket with food – do not overfill.Place the stainless steel basket in the glass bowl. Strawberries and apples take less time than sweet potatoes or carrots. Then you have to blend the food, which can take between 3-5 minutes. Overall, a batch of puree will take 20-30 minutes to make from start to finish. The Babycook does indeed have a slightly longer cooking time than the same method on the stove. But it is a very passive cooking system, and once you click the Steam button, you can walk away knowing that it will automatically shut off when it’s done. So you can go off to play with your baby, take a nap, do a load of laundry, etc., all while safely making your baby a batch of homemade baby food.Related15 STAGE ONE BABY PUREES (THAT ACTUALLY TASTE DELICIOUS)PriceLet’s talk price – because the Neo is definitely not cheap.First of all, the Babycook will last you almost an entire year of feeding your baby since it makes purees as well as steams foods for the finger food stage. And stick with me a minute because I am about to do some math (which still hurts my post-baby head). The average baby eats 12 ounces of baby food a day, or 360 ounces a month, which would roughly be $108 a month for store-bought baby food. So in three months, this machine pays for itself. It would also be a great option to add it to your baby shower registry or borrow one from a friend that has passed the puree stage.Beaba filled with bubbly water.CleaningYes, you will need to clean the Babycook. But it doesn’t take a ton of time. Here is what each cleaning will look like.Take the blade out of the glass container.Hand wash the delicate parts – glass container, stainless steel basket, lids, seals and blade.Let air dry.All of these parts or also dishwasher safe! But the manual does state, “long-term dishwasher cleaning can result in premature wear on the parts.” So I would hand wash all the parts when I have time and then feel confident that I could also toss them into the dishwasher when needed. There is also a descaling process (similar to what you should do with a coffee maker) that will need to happen every 50 cycles.Cleaning Tip: One thing I love to do to make cleaning the Babycook a little easier is that I fill the glass container 1/4 of the way full of warm water and 1-3 drops of dish soap. Then I put the lid on and put the container back on the machine, and pulse for 5 seconds intervals 3-5 times until all the food is off the container. Just make sure that you don’t fill the container too full, or it might overfill. Then all you have to do is take apart the machine and hand wash the pieces, but it’s a simple task since all the puree is already gone.Black Beaba babycook on a white counter with a coffee machine and plant.Does the Babycook Leak? After reading hundreds of reviews of this product, the one thing that I read about the most was that the Babycook leaked. So let’s take a closer look. This is a product that is steaming food. So there is bound to be a small amount of hot water that escapes during this process, similar to what you would find when steaming something on the stove. For my first trial run, I ran a cycle following the directions to a tee, double-checking everything. After steaming the produce, I did notice a small amount of liquid at the base of the machine under the glass container. There was no water on my counter. Now, I ran another steam cycle, but I left the handles of the stainless steel basket, glass container, and lid slightly askew. After the full cycle ended, there was water on my counter and under the machine’s base. Having those handles separated did make a huge difference in how much water escaped the glass container. So, yes. The Babycook will leak if you don’t line up your handles. But for me, this was a user error, not a machine error. And lesson learned – when using the Babycook, make sure to line up those handles.Babycook Neo on a white counter with a cutting board sitting in front of it with 2 freezer storage trays and a baby spoon and sweet potatoes.Beaba for Baby-Led Weaning and Finger FoodsThe Babycook Neo is a great tool to have on hand for baby-led weaning or the finger food stage. You can steam 2-3 inch pieces of hard foods so that baby can eat them without them being a choking hazard. Cooking sticks or strips of carrots, sweet potato, broccoli, cauliflower, apples, pears, or squash for your baby will be super easy to do in the Babycook.Pros & ConsHere are some of the pros & cons of the BEABA Babycook Neo:ProsConvenient: makes amazing baby food with the touch of a button! Great for busy parents that don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen.Easy To Use: This machine was designed so you can hold your baby in one hand and make them food with the other!Quality of Materials: I also love that it has a glass bowl and stainless steel cooking basket, so that baby’s food doesn’t touch plastic while it’s being cooked.Cleaning: While the Babycook does require some cleaning, it is much less than what you would have to clean if you were steaming and blending the same recipe with normal kitchen items – pot, steamer basket, lid, blender, blender lid, etc.Design: You couldn’t ask for a more beautifully designed kitchen gadget! I have the midnight color, but the cloud and eucalyptus are just as pretty.ConsPrice: The price can be steep for a lot of parents.Cleaning: This machine does require you to clean it after each use, which is why I have cleaning as both a pro and a con because I can see having to do any cleaning at all and having to descale the machine every so often, may deter some parents. Cleaning it after each use takes me roughly 3 minutes to complete.Babycook Neo on a white counter with a cutting board sitting in front of it with 2 freezer storage trays and a baby spoon. What Parents are SayingAnd it’s not just me who’s completely in love with the Beaba Babycook Neo! Here’s what a couple of parents have to say from the amazon review section…I received my first Beaba in 2014 for my first child’s baby shower. I have used it probably 3-4 nights a week for the last SEVEN YEARS. And it still works perfectly. However, now that my third son is on solids, and I’m looking at at least another 7 years of steaming veggies for dinner, I decided to upgrade my old model. WHEN I TELL YOU that this steamer feels like a LUXURY purchase i am not lying. The glass, the stainless steel, the silicone buttons, the “midnight” color way…. I am seriously obsessed with it. And it feels SAFE. The glass and stainless steel feel safe for cooking, and durable, and chemical free! If I had to complain about something- and I always find something..- is that the lids on it are light pink. Pink does not work in my kitchen or with my life and I wish it wasn’t on my beautiful midnight steamer but that’s all.JamieThis baby mixer is super easy to use and super easy to clean! I like that I can steam and blend my baby’s food right after. It is on the expensive side but it’s totally worth it!VeronicaAbsolutely awesome unit. Pricey, but if you’re paranoid about packaged foods from what used to be safe toxin free companies then this is your go to. Stainless steel glass, no BPA, no Heavy metals, no contaminants, easy to clean and disinfect. Best of all is you the produce, press a button walk away and let it steam. Any vitamins/minerals that are unchanged from cooking collect in the water vapor that are caught in the bottom. Remove produce from basket add to the collected water and hold the button to make the baby food. Super easy, super clean, and does a terrific job at making parent life simpler. You have plenty to worry about, what your kid eats shouldn’t be one of them. Highly recommend.ZenithExtremistReviewNote: I reviewed the BEABA Babycook because I personally think it is an amazing product and that you need one in your life – this is not a paid sponsorship.BEABA Babycook Neo ReviewProduct Name: BEABA Babycook NeoProduct Description: The Babycook Neo is an all-in-one baby food maker that steams, blends, warms, and defrosts homemade purees in minutes.Brand: BEABAPriceConvenienceQuality/DesignEase of Use4.5SummaryAre you a new parent that wants to make homemade baby food but doesn’t want the hassle of having to spend hours cooking and cleaning up afterward? Horrible design, bad materials
I wanted to like it but I HATE it! It was suppose to be a great baby cook made out of sturdy materials , easy to use and clean. But my hopes was destroyed one by one.First issue I encountered was a corrosion of steaming basket after about a month of light use. Contacted customer service, they mailed replacement in a few weeks. Then chopping blade that was supposed to be stainless steel and rust proof got bunch of rust . I took care of this machine greatly , all hand wash, no dishwasher , air dried . Contacted customer support and they accused me of cooking something inappropriate there! HELLO, I just cook veggies and some meat there for a baby! They said they will mail the replacement blade but it took them 2 full month to mail it ! How am I suppose to cook food for my baby in a rusty machine?? Customer service is bad and don’t follow up.From the design point of view this item has many flaws. To name a few:Anytime you blend food small pieces of food are being trapped in the glass bowl handle where it becomes moldy and spoiled. Yummy!! Again contacted support to show me how to clean it and it’s literally such a pain to take it apart to clean the handle and even dangerous because you have to use a knife to separate it apart. Then during cooking the water is dripping from the handle onto the counter constantly and there is always a water residue underneath the bowl. The lid is not air tight and never was. You can get burn just by standing next to it because of the hot steam coming out all over , where it not suppose to. I’ve seen same issue with other customers. And water reservoir gets horrible residue every time I cook there even though I use distilled water . So you have to descale it every few days.So much for a $270 French piece of “art”!Pleas see pics I’ve been taking for a good 2 months to clearly show how bad it is

Worth it!!
I know it is a high cost but honestly it works so well and saves SO much time, which is essential when you have a baby/toddler. The fact that you can cook AND blend in the same machine is amazing. That is one less item to have in your house and one less item to clean. I have been able to make so many different combinations and I truly believe it is worth it. Would 100% recommend and would buy again!!

Works well, just clean up right away.
The baby food maker feels like it is really high quality but still feels a little too pricey. At this price I'd like to see some extra bells and whistles, maybe more modes or ability to control the thickness of the food. The most important part to me is the lack of plastic, BPA, Lead & Phthalates. These are everywhere so I like to see just regular metal and glass. It is super easy to use, literally load and hit and button. It is a little tricky to clean but not much harder than any other food processor. Overall we are happy with this purchase. I went with the "Mineral" color because it matches our other kitchen items. I like how they give a few options in this regard.

So helpful!
I love my BEABA Babycook Neo Baby Food Maker!! It is so helpful to be able to make your own homemade baby food at home without all the added ingredients from store bought. I love being able to pick my babies food combinations myself! It’s amazing that it can steak cook meat in it within twenty minutes!! You don’t need any extra pots and pans because this does it all for you so the cleanup as well is super easy. You’re also able to blend, defrost, and reheat baby food!! It can make about 34 servings of baby food in about twenty minutes! The best part to it is that it has an auto shut off timer! That makes me feel way more secure about using it incase I forget or am super busy with the baby. I’m extremely pleased with this and love it.
